Rida

Nice New look of the web Faisal Uncle! Lovin' it man! :D

The only thing i want to say to Mr. Nazir is that Faisal Uncle NEVER said that politics will change. The change that needs to be brought up is among ourselves. Yani, humain apnay ap ko badalna hai, apni soch ko badalna hai. Don't worry too much about the change that needs to be brought in Pakistan. If PakistaNI can change himself/ herself, he will benefit and bring a change to society and the country automatically. I think that's what FQ was getting at. However, do wait for his reply.  :)

Malcolm Turnbull got kicked out in Australia for being a 'bad leader', though ofcourse it was stated in the public that his tenure was completed and hence he left. Man, i wish we could kick 'bad leaders' out as easily as how people in Aus do!

Enjoy!

Losing A Companion Through Silence

I feel you in every breath of mine,
My life is but under your shadow,
I pray to thee as long as I live,
It’s all your boons,
Whether smiles or tears,
We will never part,
Through smiles, nor through tears,

That’s what I feel about Pakistan. The country I was born in.

“From this time forward, under God, I pledge my loyalty to Australia and its people, whose democratic beliefs I share, whose rights and liberties I respect, and whose laws I will uphold and obey”.

And that’s what I promised to Australia. The country I migrated to and chose to become a citizen of.

****

I am uncertain as to where should I began. But I do know that if I still remained silent, I will be also responsible for intolerance. No, it wasn’t me who created the problem, it was my elders. To whom I pay no thanks to. I live in two worlds, you may describe them as being Islamic and Western, rich and poor, developed and undeveloped, but I give them their real names-Australia and Pakistan. Fortunately, they are not enemies of each other, but unfortunately, they are not friends either. They are just an acquaintance.

63 years ago, a unified nation sacrificed it’s lives and struggled to obtain a free country. A country where Muslims could practise their faith freely, without being prohibited by other faiths. Such land was known to be ‘Islamic Republic of Pakistan’. You may have heard of it. You may have heard of all the bombings that are happening there. You may have also heard that people there have become silent and are getting poor everyday. You may have heard that people there don’t have food to eat don’t have water to drink. They don’t have electricity and all the educated people are running away from the country. 55% of the Pakistan’s population contains young people. 1 out of 4 Pakistani children can not read and write. And only 1 in 5 people have full time jobs. My father send me to Australia to study, to have a better life, to increase my life-expectancy of 40 years to 80 years. However, my father didn’t come with me. He said he has worked hard his entire life to help Pakistani people. And so, he won’t come.

I sing ‘Advance Australia Fair’ every Monday morning at my school. I also sing ‘Qaumi Tarana’ every Saturday morning in my backyard. I have kissed both Australian and Pakistani flags. But for some reason, my cultural division doesn’t satisfy any of my two countries. Even though, headscarf has been accepted in the wider Australian community, and I am more often taken as a Muslim than a Pakistani. Which may be good if considering I value my religion more. But I must ask; what comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘Pakistani’? After asking a whole bunch of my friends at school, they said they thought of ‘me’. Which didn’t help me prove my point at all. So, I went down the main street and asked others. ‘What comes to your mind when you hear the word Pakistani?’ And as I expected, the forbidden ‘J-word’ jihad was once again stated. And then it went on… terrorist, oppressed women, war, Taliban. Sad. I like Australians; they speak their mind freely. I thought there was no hope. But upon my last survey, a man told me that Pakistan reminded him of ‘Imran Khan’ and ‘cricket’.

He made my day.

I had thought that being a Muslim, a Pakistani, and on top of that wearing a headscarf would have certainly seized all my freedom of living a ‘normal human life’. Indeed, I was wrong. Yet, this was not enough. No, I am not saying that I will guarantee you that you won’t hear about another bomb blast occurring in Pakistan on SBS World News Australia tonight when you go home. But what I am trying to address is this: have a cross-cultural communication. I was disappointed when my Chinese friend told me that in a multi-cultural city like Melbourne, people tend to only hang around with their ethnic groups. So Indians are usually seen with Indians, Aborigines with Aborigines, Chinese with Chinese, and Anglo-Saxons with other Anglo-Saxons. Even multi-cultural restaurants had customers who belong to that particular culture and ate that specific cuisine.

So, are we loosing that communication that we initially aimed at?

Perhaps. And no, stubborn people like me won’t let that happen. I tell my friends the problems that Pakistani society is facing, and what ideas and opinions they may like to share. This may sound very plain, but unbelievably the power of communication, even just a mild chitchat that I have during my recess at school, made so much difference.

It would be unfair to only accuse Australians for being uncommunicative and reticent. Pakistanis are in the same boat. They both lack understanding of each other. Pakistanis only see Australia as having more job opportunities. They fail to understand that they won’t just be given jobs as soon as they arrive. And if they think working at McDonalds as a waiter bring a shame to their family, then they should have considered it before coming here. It is easy for a person like me to pick up negative things from both societies and openly discuss them and suggest for improvement.

Simply because I am an Australian-Pakistani.

Yes, I am one of them. Perhaps one of your people. And I must say that if two countries continue to fail in communicating, then there will be more of those stereotypes that we dare to think about. There will be an illiterate Pakistani generation that lacks cross-cultural communication and thinks that all Australians are fat and it was Christopher Columbus who discovered Australia. And on the other hand, there will be an Australian generation that thinks that Pakistan is in Africa and well, is a ‘flat-desert’. Either way it is people like me who will be alienated.

Change yourself and the whole world will change?  Isn't that how worlds have changed before us?  Why does it seem such an alien concept?

faisalqureshi

Thanks

Maheen

@ FQ, I don't have anything special to say. Finally, here's your website. A permanent one- I hope so :)

Nothing in life is permanent ;-)

Ali

Id like to share something here and possibly if it can be mentioned on bang e dara. This one day we are all at work trying to decide on a school to go back to. I dont know how or where it came from, but because everyone was younger than me I decided to give them a word of advice. I said forget I.T. and come to islam there are a lot of jobs in it ( we still laugh at that). Faisal if you could play or mention this video from youtube. If you query 2 year old girl answering questions on islam — dedicated to all those spending millions this month. Faisal I dont know if we are allowed to be taking names on this wall???? if we are please email me if you could.

wsalam

Dear FQ,

I would like to appreciate you for presenting wonderful program with prof. N
D Khan and Siddiq-ul-Farooq.You are doing great job by reminding oblivious
realities.
You are absolutely right that ‘’ Education’’ is the real solution of all
crisis, free education top to bottom

So your argument is highly appreciable that we need educational revolution.

plz all friends u may submit suggessions regarding this topic.

Ali

What a joke!! the president has ordered an inquiry on what had happened when his car was passing by while the baby was delivered. Is there a worse disease??? God forbid if the woman had died what I can pretty much gurantee that notthing would've happened the reaction would've been the same.

faisalqureshi

LOL. Enquiry for why the whole city was frozen because he was passing by?

Asalam-o- Alakum

On behalf of PAF KET (Main Campus) korangi Creek Karachi Student society I want to invite Mr.Faisal Qureshi  to deliver a motivational and thought provoking lecture on ‘Future of Pakistan in Current Scenario’. we all know he is a great speaker  of Pakistan And this is the signs of true Pakistani We want our students and faculty get an insight about your ideology.

In my opinion, we are not suppose to only comment upon any topic. In most of the TV programs and general discussions…about anything we see, heard or read…it just give us a topic to pass time, blaming either Government or society, being a part of both somewhere.

We need solutions…..BUT being a part of this society I want to comment on child delivery issue too…

"Only solution for this problem is BAN rikshaw(144)……then how can a delievery is possible in rickshaw????

Will come up with more ideas….

Fatima

Salam.

Sad, my headmistress did not allow because its almost the end of the term and she wants us to concentrate on our mocks.

faisalqureshi

allow what?

ayesha

i see every pakistani making comments regarding the politicians and what not but have we ever thought what most of the EDUCATED AND INTELLECTUAL community of pakistan think of  the day of election ….. a.chutti.So its not the jahil awam but we the purhay likhay jahils who need to get up and think of it as a day of responsibilty and cast our votes if we seriously want a change!!!!!

faisalqureshi

Vote alone won’t change it. We also need to step up and become a part of the leadership process. Have a look at session 2 on http://personalityquotient.com/workshop-come-show-your-colors/

sarah

hi,

i think that it is high time that we move on and stop blaming each other, because when we point fingers at each other we are pointing to our selves too. As far as army is concerned it is only we who have  given them the power to rule us. If  we are honest to our country we would not need anyone telling us how to run it.

I am so glad for 'Bang-e-Dara'. Amongst all the "poltical noise" talk-shows on Pak T.V. channels, there's one that actually makes sense .. of the noise.

faisalqureshi

Thanks very much. Glad you like it.

Naveed

I was helping my son memorize his weekly poem, and it reminded me of you and your team.
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But, he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn’t," but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you’ll never do that;
     At least no one has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
     Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
     There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin,
     Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "couldn’t be done," and you’ll do it.

Shahab Junejo

Dear faisal bhai,

Bang-e-dara is the only TV show that is about facts and the reality.  I don't live in Pakistan but am still connected to it because of my roots. I am planning to go back and settle there.

I totally agree with what you have said but slightly disagree with that we can change our people and eradicate social evils by just discussing those on tv in  an hour show.

We really need a revolution by a powerful man who is honest, sincere and  have roots in the army and the establishment.  think about it?

faisalqureshi

And that person will have to do what? Kill people? or put 10 million people in jail? When a whole nation is corrupt the only revolution you will see will be in favor of chaos.

Shahab Junejo

I think our nation's biggest problem is "greed" for money. That's the basis of corruption, hoarding, disrespect for others. We have no rule of law and no government at all. I bet even if 5% of criminals be punished severely and seriously then it'll be a lesson for the rest of us. I mean at least 5% of the politicians, judges, army, bureaucrats,  police, journalists, businessmen and others be punished. If I know there is a law which is implemented and i may be punished if i do anything wrong then i'd probably wouldn't do it. Terrorism is one important reason for our downfall also. I think that is due to lack of education and some foreign interference and that again is also due to no rule of law. Faisal bhai you are doing a wonderful job and i have absolutely no doubt about it but we people have become so mean and insensitive that we wouldn't change unless we see implementation of law with our own eyes.

Jamal_Alam

Faisal, you keep talking about doing good but when someone does good you don't appreciate him;

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why should anyone do good?

faisalqureshi

Don’t you think people should do good because they want to do good? If they want to do it only so I or someone else appreciates it, then we know that even namaz is useless.

Jamal_Alam

"Don’t you think people should do good because they want to do good? If they want to do it only so I or someone else appreciates it, then we know that even namaz is useless."

Try that with wife and kids…stop appreciating them. Let us know how it turned out. :)

Young people need role models. We appreciate role models so young can follow suit. But you know that already.

faisalqureshi

Sure. But what makes you think you can make me accountable with

“Faisal, you keep talking about doing good but when someone does good you don’t appreciate him;Why should anyone do good?”

I do what I want to do, just like you do what you want to do.

Check out this link – Quam sab ke beech mein pish rahee hai… all i heard "aap ne yeh kiya … aap aisey … aap yeh…"

HAHAHA! if people outside of Pakistan hear this would wonder about us

http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

it seem 2 murghay are fighting… and people are watching in an awwh!

Mr. Faisal! I called in Caravan today. We talked great stuff on the show, yet when it came to action situation, we turned our faces away or may be we didn't appreciate the situation well enough. I tried to call again but, couldn't succeed because the programme was about to end. I wanted to request Mrs. Khush bakht Shujaat to take just one responsibility in order to add objectivity to your programme. the second last caller had said that she knew a man who had raped his daughter and murdered the kid on birth and was in jail for last two years. If this man can be tried by the court and a death penalty can be announced within a week or two and the verdict can be broadcasted on TV (which is not a big deal if a parliamentarian pursues it with some vigour), it may be the first practical step towards women empowerment. It may sound harsh, yet an animal of his kind deserves even worse. Regards.

hi …

FQ , I hope that you will not mind that i wrote ” FQ ” … so here my point is that , as I think that you want to change the mind set of the people of our and you very own NATION .. I really like that … BUT how will you change their mind set when they don't want it to be changed ? …. :)

faisalqureshi

With perseverence. So help me God

Watching your program with N D Khan as your guest. Wow. Hats off to your questions.

This country has been ruined by jiala's and jiala ministers whose only job is to justify their masters doing.

Of course there may be some exceptions. Allah aap ko khush rakhay aur apni hifazat mein rakhay

Faisal Bhai! Awaiting your reply to my post dated 7 Mar 2010…….

Hello FQ  …

how r u ?  " feel free " these two words are said by you much frequently , which I like very much  … My point is that these are not just two words . " feel free " its a way to and one of the basic steps of becoming independent person or a independent citizen .So we should stop dam caring about " what people will say "  doniya kia kahe gi …. and just feel free to do good things and if we wont do anything now so in future we'll be only able to just "feel" free nothing else at that time … we should thankful to Allah that at least we have one person like you in our country up till now who is doing really good thing … FAISAL QURESHI  -the person who speaks the truth :)

thank you …

Before watching your show I was speaking to older brother in desperation that there is no light at the end of the Tunnel for Pakistan and people of Pakistan.  Every time we see a light, it turns out to be another approaching train (barreling down).

First time I watch your program Bang-e-Dara and I am hooked.

I have been in USA for last 20 years, I have no desire to go back to Pakistan.  But, somewhere deep down within me I ache for Pakistan.  But, more importantly I ache for poor, middle class, lower middle class people.  It is time for stand-up, including me, to start fighting for our country and take it back from vultures and hoarder of wealth.  May Allah and only Allah give us strength (But, Allah also said that he won't help those who won't help themselves).

Twin Suicide Attacks Hit Military Sites in Lahore-Pakistan 12th March 2010

What I am about to write may not be in context, but the actual reasons behind the present situation in Pakistan is some what relevant. It’s terrible to see what has happened yesterday in Lahore and I completely blame both the ruling parties in Government for their incompetence and the main cause of this catastrophe. The judiciary is on one side trying to play innocent and they have their own battles to settle with the politicians. Pakistan regrettably has no proper Government to handle its affairs internally or externally, no proper constituency cabinet  in its assembly to keep a check and balance on Politicians, no proper judiciary to implement law and order  in the country and with the help of the West they have involved the Pakistan Army in a “TO DO MORE” situation which has also caused a major disturbance on our borders and the last but not the least for our religious fundamentalists are causing shame and embarrassment and our a total disappointment with no proper direction of beliefs amongst each other including are law enforcing agencies are highly dictated under the influence of our politicians. Pakistan has become more of a harboring state for many religious fanatics, migrants from various neighboring countries to propagate wrong teaching of Islam which has caused a huge gap between various scholars and school of thoughts (madras’s).

Now the grass-root-cause of all these insurgencies that has sabotaged and has caused absolute instability in Pakistan is due to a corrupted Government brought into empowerment by foreign interests. Unfortunately both the ruling political parties have been given two terms in the past and have caused major draw back and corruption in the country. Democracy has never failed but the governance of their ruling has put the country in such a disaster.

Presently the people of Pakistan have been very badly put into a situation where leading a normal life has become very difficult economically for every individual. If the situation is not properly controlled and accountability rendered immediately across board no matter what the consequences are then only there can be some hope and stability.

faisalqureshi

I will form a forum here soon.

AOA THE ONLY SOLUTION TO ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS IS THAT  WE REPENT AND  CONNECT OURSELVES WITH ALLAH AND RASOOL E PAK (S.A.W).

JAZAKALLAH KHAIR.

Aslam o alaikum faisal bhai,

We as a nation have stopped remembering and obeying ALLAH and hence, have forgotten the purpose of our lives. We all know that Islam is a complete code of life but we think that offering Salat is enough. It isnt. The believers have been sent to this world to make it a beautiful place but the reason why it isnt today is that we, the believers are sleeping. We can only and only wake up by following Islam in its true spirit.

Zaakir

Aslam o alaikum faisal bhai, i agree with u cent percent. ONLY and ONLY ALLAH's OPINION matters. Why should we think whether people think of us to be good or not? They wont judge us on the Judgement Day. I think if every believer starts to think on these lines, he/ she will definitely be successful in both worlds; he/ she only and only cares for ALLAH's Pleasure.

jazakALLAH khair.

Zaakir

Aslam o alaikum , our nation's main problem is that all of us have left the teachings of Quran and are so much involved in this world that we are not seeing anything beyond it. We dont realize that there is something beyond the wall and hence, have a very limited approach. Now, what is the solution to all of these problems? It is to repent and to ask ALLAH for forgiveness with utmost conviction and to promise HIM that we will become HIS people from now onwards so we can be successful in both worlds.

Islam doesnt say to forsake the world, rather it teaches to forsake the love of this world. So, we should live here and make this world beautiful by implementing ISLAM on ourselves and by becoming a role model.Unless and until we adopt this approach, we can never hope to find ANY SOLUTION to the problems we r finding today.

only and only solution is repentance.

For further explanation, kindly watch this 8 min short video.

Tariq Ghalib

First of all, Salam and thanks for presenting such an enlightened show to all the Pakistanis. This is my first ever email to any TV show host and I only choose to write to you becoz of the hope that you might not be lying to us like others from thousands of other news channels around the world. Your personality and truthful ways are surely liked by all. I will come to the point without wasting anymore time. Recently, I watched your program regarding the child labor and another program by kamran shahid(Frontline) where he went to sindh and showed the misery of the people in thar. The basic problem of the people of Pakistan is Low Literacy rate. I have an idea for promoting education in Pakistan…….we might not be able to build schools and manage them everywhere in Pakistan…..but IDEA: “IF WE CAN OPEN A GROUP OF CHANNELS FROM WHERE WE CAN DELIVER CLASSES ON TV FOR EVERY SUBJECT COVERING FROM GRADE 1 TO GRADE 10 AND THEN WE CAN AIR IT THEN BASICALLY WE WILL HAVE A RUNNING SCHOOL ON MEDIA……” REQUIREMENTS: 1) PROVIDE TV SETS TO UNPREVILIGED AND POOR VILLAGES 2) ASSIGN A PERSON TO MANAGE THAT MEDIA SCHOOL (THE BEAUTY IS THAT THE ASSIGNED PERSON DOESNT NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE A LITERATE HIMSELF AND WHAT NEEDS OF HIM IS TO MANAGE CLASSES AND ENVIRONMENT) 3) A BOARD AND GOVERING BODY OF VERY FEW PEOPLE TO MANAGE THE MEDIA CHANNEL RESULTS: 1) CHILDREN ALL OVER PAKISTAN CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS MEDIA CHANNEL AND INSTEAD OF OPENING SEPARATE SCHOOLS FOR THOUSANDS OF VILLAGES WE CAN HAVE (LETS SAY 12 CHANNELS FOR EACH GRADE 1-12) 2) MEDIA CONTROLS THE SCHOOLING AND THAT PROVIDES IMMENSE OPPORTUNITY OF IMPROVEMENT IN SYLLABUS AND EASY STOPPING OF FRAUDELENT METHODS (WHICH ARE ROOT CAUSE OF DESTRUCTION OF EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM) 3)WE WILL ENGAGE AND LITERATE OUR YOUNG GENERATION AS A WHOLE AND EVERY DEPRIVED CHILD WILL FEEL LIKE BEING AT A SAME LEVEL AND WILL HELP THEM GET INTO MAIN STREAM EASILY. I am sure one can bring thousand of benefits out of this plan and this could work magic at very very sustainable and low cost. I am an engineer from a university in Canada and I am whole heartedly offering my services for any help I can lend (I am willing to relocate to Pakistan if its required). Hope you liked the idea. I personally see immense potential in it but I am obviously not experienced enough to judge its worth. Regards, Tariq

you are blaming people to act violently…. ???

tell me as a Student did you ever had 20 Rupees in ur pocket as transport fair for they day.. and you found on the bus stop that fair is changed and now the money you have is only good for buying one way ticket?????

you went back and ask your father for more money  but he was also out of money to go to work for his "Dehari"……

did you ever had this experience????????????

I hope you have got your answer brother…   people had enough of this so called democracy.

the only way our government answer is what those people did in Islamabad…

I hope you know that government cut down the fair… after all it worked…

i hope this thing happen all over Pakistan so we can kick out people like Zardari out of the system..

faisalqureshi

1. It is these very people who bring them into power.

2. You have no idea what my experiences are.

3. Everyone feels they are miserable, but never look at why they have reached where they have and how to turn it around.

And lastly, if you feel violent about the situation, don’t forget it’s violence that got you there.

As Salam O Alliakum,

SORRY if anyone gets heart :)

Sometimes I think that we are waiting at a platform for some "MAGICAL TRAIN" which will take us to a place where everone will play their role as a good Pakistani, good human being, educating others, helping others etc.

Why we always wait for SOMEONE (Khudai Faujdar) to lead us & always want to be followers?? By doing small small good things, why don't we feel like LEADERS with in ourselves?

There are already 170 Million ppl available for discussions. Atleaset those who can read these blogs,  lets start sharing what ever good we have done for others. (Not only giving ideas. Sharing what we have done practically)

Maarij

bleh – bleh – bleh… i have been way too patient but nobody has had your shows up for a week (not to mention live stream link not working). I have not been able to see any of your 23rd March specials… life sucks bhaijan!!!!! life sucks as a "NRP"

2. Give me a reason to order something to eat :)

Assalam u allaikum everyone

This is my first blog here at this web of Faisal Qureshi. And I believe it can be a good platform to bring the nation on one decision and that is to protect Pakistan and serve Pakistan. Now the need is to educate and aware the people of Pakistan; because what we lack in is Logical Thinking. We, as a nation never think at our own. Whatsoever is told to us by our decision makers, we do accept it and this is what is creating a problem for us. If we are told by our leaders that Pakistan is having energy crises, we do accept it instead of asking them to justify the crises. If we are told that Pakistan is having shortage of wheat, rice, sugar etc then we accept it never ask them to justify it. This is what we lack in. We need to develop an attitude of leadership within ourselves , we should stand and ask questions to our politicians that what is happening and why it is happening? But unfortunately majority of the youth is involved in applying in different universities outside Pakistan and ultimately they also want to be settled there. If we talk about our elders then they cannot be termed as our Role models because from the very beginning we have been hearing from them that there is nothing in Pakistan and this country has not given  any thing to us. So what are we supposed to do now? The solution is quite simple, in every nation students are the most powerful leaders. We have to stand and we have to lead this country. We have to change ourselves first then we can change the whole system. The logic building must be an essential part of study at every level of education because we as a nation lack in it. We do not think logical. We look for alternatives not for solutions. The day every Pakistani start thinking logical and start leading ,that day Pakistan will be an example for the world.

Hi,

Can someone please explain me what these people will get after changing the name from NWFP to "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa"??

Will this help to decresae poverty level in that area?

Will this help to improve standard of living of people living in that area?

Will this help them getting FREE education?

Rida

you crack me up Sajid: but what was the point of that question? what on earth has thing got to do with politics?  LOL :P

asif ali khan

AOA,  I SEE URS PROGRAMMES VARIOUS TIME, U SAY THAT U WANT  AWARENESS ABOUT SOCIAL & POLITICAL, FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE NOT ANY THEORY (MEANS AIM, NAZZERIA, NASBULAIN) SO PLS CLEARED OURS WITH ME THE AIM AS A NATION (WITHOUT ANY SOCIAL, LANGUAGES, RELIGIOUES UP AND DOWN), SORY FOR ALL IF MERY BAAT SAY KESI KO TAKLEEF HUHI HO.

THANKS

ASIF ALI KHAN

Asad,

As I wrote in my blog that we need to develop a system of education in which LOGIC BUILDING must be an essential part of the curriculum so I think the time has come to change this whole system. This system needs to be reformed not refined. Another thing is this, we are not educating our students. We are just creating a sort of a competition within ourselves and thats the main  reason of the failure of our society. The people of the province PAKHTOONKHWA formerly NWFP are getting happy, they are cheering and enjoying but none of them knows that it has no benefit for them. The reason is only one and that is lack of education,or you can say quality education. What is told to them by their leaders they start following that, they do not have their own thinkings. And this goes for every one not only the people of NWFP. Because what we lack in, is the vision. So we need to develop a proper system of education by which we can produce leaders.LOGIC Building must be an essential part of the curriculum. I share an experience with all of you, once I asked one of my friend WHY DO YOU FOLLOW THIS POLITICAL PARTY?He replied because my father and grand father are its supporter. I asked him to tell something about the vision of your leader so he said I don't know as I am supporting it because of my father. What it shows is the poor thinking of y friend that he has no thinking of his own, he has not thought why is he following that political party..

Alhamdullilah, Pakistan is an independent Muslim state and leaded by the educated leaders. And we still do not have an aim. This is not because of our leaders, its because of us. We never raised our voice against what was wrong; we never criticized those who needed to be, we never took anything seriously. And till the time,we as a nation do not get united till that time we will be loosing. We have a problem actually within ourselves and that is division of our own selves in a number of castes, communities etc.

If any one raises his voice for any thing wrong so people ask him questions which have no use like…

1) WHO ARE YOU TO SAY THIS?

2) ARE YOU MUSLIM? SUNNI,SHIA,etc

3) WHICH POLITICAL PARTY YOU BELONG TO)

4) HOW DO YOU OFFER YOUR PRAYERS?

5) WHICH MOSQUE DO YOU PRAY IN?

and a number of questions like this are asked to the person who raises his voice against any thing going wrong.

We need to focus on being a nation first, then we can think about anything else..

Khushnood Zia

Faisal Bhai

Presently most of our media coverage is focused towars Shuaib-Sania wedding, Name of Province, Mechanism of Judge appointment, 18th amendment  etc but non of above mentioned issues is directly effecting the livelihood of our country and people of Pakistan.

Most crucial issue is the water issue. We are facing acute shortage of water and water does effect the agriculture, power generation and every aspect of life. We are either not sure of the reason or atleast not sure of what to do. If problem is India dont you think we should put our head togather to find the way out of this.  Means if India is really stealing the water then more time, and brain should be consumed to interpret the "Sindh Tas treaty". When we have more awareness then better suggestions will be received and then we can  make better policy and stance accordingly.

Secondly we have to think that if presently we have water shortage then in future it will be even less. Is is smart to have hydral electric power generation projects for future no matter how cost effecctive they sound.

India has really gripped us by the throat. Our lifeline is in his hands. We are not doing anything but concentrating on non important issues. This way we have to blame ourselves for being ignorant and sin is still continuing. So much time has been wasted and if we dont wakeup then India will continue to practice the "Right of upper Riperian" and complete the 2 more Dams. Then situation is even worse.

Please act and act now

hina

hello there, your programme made me do something truly abominable! stop and THINK ! yes, finally it made me put the remote down after my nightly ritual of aimless channel surfing, watching incoherent drivel that is in guise of 'quality' programming these days.  FINALLY someone who actually made me ponder…about my responsibilities as a citizen and my deeds as an individual, instead of indulging in our ever popular national past time of finger pointing. well today i am pointing the finger at myself. thank you.

faisalqureshi

Thank you very much for your lovely note. Like I’ve said many times before, it’s these little notes that make it all worthwhile. And this is all you and I need to do. Stop and think. That’s it. Think. And the world can change within minutes.

Danish Nafay

Assalam-u-alaikum,

I just saw the last 5 mins of your program Bang-e-dara yesterday(April 9th, 2010). What i got is that it was about some garbage near mosque. I am not a resourcefull person, but what i feel is that i can contribute something in this cause. Have ulisted down some action steps like how many trucks needed to remove that garbage?? How much human resource required??? What is the estimated cost?? I can contribute something in this cause from my "jaan" as well as from my "maal".

Sorry i have'nt seen the whole program. so i don't know the details. i just saw the end part where you were appealing the people to come forward.

faisalqureshi

All we need are voices. Educated affluent voices.

Tanveer

Can't we make nuclear reactors ourselves? why we need foreign help? Money is not the reason for sure!

hina

trust me, people are listening and thinking, more so now than ever before. its just very hard to shake off this shroud of indifference that has been our companion for decades, thats the way we have been programmed to BE, schooling onwards. it'll take time and people like you are helping us get there. Azm e Alishan, Arz e Pakistan!  :)

Osama Pai

hello Faisal Bhai,

i have been your fan since a very long time, seen you twice at public places but didn't feel correct to bother you during your family time. Great show, i must say but I personally feel we all know how bad we and our surroundings has got, we all know that we bribe almost any department we get a chance to bribe, we all know morally we hare dead and that is all we are watching on TV; your show and lots of other shows are highlighting problems and bigger problems without suggesting a solution.

we must do something but what is this something, i can see many friends here want to do something and they don't have anywhere to start with. I want to suggest that we should try to cover people, social organizations, or and individual who is working for the community even if it is as minor as teaching your servant for free.

I am engineer myself and all i have learned from my 4 years degree program is that the most challenging problem has the most straight forward solution but we are too busy in trying big things that we oversee the smallest faults.

Lets work for small changes and bigger will follow. As small as teaching your child in home to throw garbage in trash no matter where ever he/she is and the rest will follow. Had we never been to pre nursery we might never have graduated.

I love Pakistan and I have plans to change or play my part in history books, If i die without playing my part or doing what i have planned then i will take it as a wasted life.

I hope each and everyone of you will deliver with your plans, together we will shine and our flag will fly with pride.

"Be the change you want to see"

xaid

Dear Sir,

I started watching your program around three weeks back. As a Pakistani-not-currently-living-in-Pakistan, it really hurts me to see the downturn in almost spheres of our nation. Programs like yours bring a ray of hope that at least somebody is trying for a positive change. I hope…., NO! I am sure, that you and few people like you (especially in electronic media) are the first drops. Please do not stop what you are doing and do not lose hope, at least not until somebody else is ready to take over from you and carry on the the good work you are doing :)

I know you must get a lot of e-mails like mine, especially from NRP's and you must think that why are these guys only writing e-mails and not coming back and contributing. I believe that would also start happening pretty soon inshallah.

Media is a very powerful tool anywhere in the world, but in Pakistan it is even more powerful at present. In my opinion that is because of two things: i) A media that is going through its teething problems and not knowing how to control its power. ii) Lack of analytical and logical thought process in majority of our people and that includes the educated people. Because of these two reasons it is very easy for media to sway the public opinion in any direction that they might choose to. We have seen that in recent history in Pakistan.

The reason for my above rambling is that there is a huge opportunity for a change towards good in the above scenario. I feel that at the moment media holds the future of our nation in its hands. It can either guide the nation towards positive change or it can make us stay the couch potato and drawing room critics (or perhaps cynics might be more appropriate) that we as a nation have become.

The point I am getting to is why don't you try and get together with some other "important" anchors in other channels and convince them in doing what you are currently doing alone. I know there is professional rivalry between channels and between anchors but I am sure there must be some more good guys out there.

Once again, please keep up the good work and may Allah give you the strength to carry on what you have started.

Regards

Ali

faisalqureshi

I can’t even get a few of you together and you expect to gather them? Everyone seems to know what others need to do. Noone seems to know what they MUST do.

u r show is commendable for bringing to light some serious issues of our society!!what bothers me is the fact that some very important issues that directly effect our country and people r not taken up,one such instance is the issue of power shortfall.i m sure u must have read about rental power projects and the fact that they r most unfeasible option as they  will increase the cost of power manifold hence destroying any remaining industry.the funny thing is that its third or fourth time that i have seen iranian embassador telling that they r offering cheaper electricity to the govt but nobody seems to be interested……while oday i heard the minister declaring that rental projetcs r the only solution to this problem……what i wud like to suggest is that cant u or ur channel be the ones who highlight this issue….or u people also have ur muslehutain…..

ayesha

not taking up imporant issues,is not meant for u rather i  intended to point other famous news channels, that r always busy in senseless discussions of who will remain or be out of govt..and so on..

faisalqureshi

An anchor, a show, or a channel, can cover a topic only so long. Beyond that the people have to carry it. I have talked about the Iranian power issue, but how long can I talk about it? I keep urging people like yourself to come forward and join your voices with ours, only then real change will happen.

Shereen Siddiqui

I'm watching the show now and have had a power cut so am unable to watch it completely but I felt compelled to coment.
I'm overwhelmed by a multitude of opinions and a degree of emotion. I worked for 14 years for the government in the UK as a residential social worker, with a the view of wanting be able to say. "I tried to make a difference." I moved to Pakistan 2 years ago… I loved and completely agreed with the point made by Yasmeen your guest on the show today, that women need to be true to themselves and stop accepting bad situations as "normal." I came here and learned two terms that were the acceptable explanations and reasoning behind almost any and everything in Pakistan. "Yahan tow aisehi hota hai" or Yahan aisa nehin hota" and that's it. Congratulations to Yasmeen for proving both these statements completely and quite rightly wrong, it was so refreshing to hear her on your show today. Thankyou so much for bringing Yasmeen into the spotlight.  (COPIED FROM MY FB COMENT)

uzmataufiq

I hv notice that u r the only one who talks about  getting rid of the filth around us. I sincerely thank u fr the effort..  I too . as an educated member of the society.  am trying to come up wth sollutions and ideas to wake up our neighbours  so they can see the filth they pass  by daily.  cause I am really ashamed!   For me this is the number one priority in the cleanup act. people hv to learn tht they can easily get rid of or manage any kind of filth in our society .Be it in garbage or human form.

faisalqureshi

Unfortunately this is not an easy task :-) God bless.

Rida

Tanveer thanks, but you include such a skill of making nulcear reactors in your resume, and i can gurantee that you will neither get the job, nor will it help us Pakistanis in the West cutting out racism rates.

Shahid

No one has really questioned why Pakhtun's like Salim Saifullah, Mian Gul Aurangzeb, Ameer Muqam, Nighat Orakzai, Sabir Shah, Sir Anjam Khan, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Humayun Saifullah and so many more are strongly opposed to this name. If it is mere a question of identity, why is there a strong opposition to this name from Pakhtun’s? and why are they not happy that their identity will be reflected in the name of their province? Also, one cannot brush aside all this opposition to the name as an opposition ploy, it has to be carefully looked at and analyzed in light of some facts which, so far, media has failed to look at.

If you know the facts, this opposition will start making some sense, so we need to get our facts straight. The claim made by many commentators, the ANP leadership, and even by the head of constitutional reform committee, Mr. Raza Rabbani in the National Assembly on November 21,2008, that NWFP Assembly had twice passed unanimous resolutions in favour of renaming of NWFP to Pakhtunkhwa is totally baseless and a negation of truth . In fact, the NWFP Assembly never passed any unanimous resolution in favour of Pakhtunkhwa.

The resolution for renaming of NWFP to Pakhtunkhwa was moved in the NWFP provincial assembly for the first time on November 29, 1990 and was defeated.  There were 48 (58. %) votes against the resolution, 28 (34. %) in favour while 7 members (8%) abstained.

Such a resolution was moved for the second time and passed by the NWFP Assembly on November 13, 1997 but with a thin majority and in highly disputed proceedings. The House had 83 members. A total of 44 members voted in favour of Pakhtunkhwa, representing 53 % yes vote; while 37 members (45% of the total strength of the assembly) from the PML-N and allies stayed away by exercising the right of abstention and 2 MPAs opposed the resolution.

A resolution supported by only 53 % elected legislators of the province in no way can be termed a unanimous one. This is something that responsible people like Mr. Raza Rabbani must know before making baseless claims about sensitive issues and that too on the floor of the legislative body.

It is also amazing to see how pseudo intellectuals and politicians who know little about NWFP talk so confidently about the rights of people of NWFP. It is also strange that the president and most of the cabinet members started calling NWFP as Pakhtunkhwa as soon as they took office. He took oath under a constitution which “still” does not have a province with this name but he still feels that for political expediency there is no harm in doing so. Or maybe his historical linkage with Awami National Party (ANP), his father being the leader of its Sindh chapter, is playing a role or maybe he has played a great political game and has outmanoeuvred Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz by putting the entire blame for delay in the implementation of the constitutional package on its shoulders. It serves him well. Otherwise why will he go against the most of the leaders of Pakistan People’s Party NWFP opinion that the province should not be renamed as Pakhtunkhwa? The PPP NWFP president Syed Zahir Ali Shah, it’s executive members like Yawar Naseer, Zulfiqar Afghani, to name a few, have admitted, privately, many a times that they do not support this name-change and that this decision has been forced by the central PPP leadership down their throat against the wishes of most of PPP workers.

Most commentators innocently talk about Pakhtunkhwa as a demand by the people of NWFP and “and that Punjab or others should not tell people of NWFP how to name their province” This is a naive point of view and someone who is not familiar with the history or just not aware of the ground realities of NWFP makes a mistake of thinking that the name is just a name and that NWFP does deserve an identity.

One can agree with the sentiment and can fully support the idea of having an identity for NWFP.  The problem lies in the definition of that identity. The majority of people of NWFP are fiercely divided and a great number have an issue with the name Pakhtunkhwa.  Now there are both historical reasons as well as ethnic reasons for this.

Let’s look at the historic facts, as well. Pakhtunkhwa or Pakhtunistan movement is not new. It is an old movement and the Indian National Congress and Khudai Khidmatgar leader Khan Ghafar Khan led the movement to unite the Pakhtun areas of NWFP with Afghanistan. This was supported by Congress and Afghan governments. Though a genuine Nationalistic movement, it led to great divisions in NWFP and forced the British to hold a referendum in NWFP to decide if they wanted to join Pakistan or not. To the shock of Congress and British 92% of the NWFP population chose Pakistan. This was a big blow for the nationalistic movement and for next several decades its leaders were treated with suspicions.

This mistrust is still very much alive and well among a big population of NWFP. Even though some of the ANP leadership have moved away from this politics of greater Pakhtunistan, the rebranded Pakhtunkhwa movement still have a big number of people who still subscribe to the old ideology. One cannot ignore the hostile statements of the then National Awami Party leaders when they were in self-exile in Afghanistan. People of NWFP do not have a short memory.

The ethnic issue can not be ignored as well. This is not an issue for the people of Hazara alone which makes up roughly 30 percent of the total population of the province. The NWFP is a multi-linguistic and multicultural province. Seventy languages are spoken through out Pakistan and 30 alone are in NWFP. Hindko is the second main language of the province which is spoken in provincial capital—Peshawar, Kohat, Nowshera, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra and parts of Battagram.    The Seraiki language is spoken in Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and areas of Lakki Marwat contiguous to Mianwali district of Punjab.  Chitral alone makes up 30 percent of the total area of NWFP and has an entirely different culture being home to seven languages. Similarly there are several languages in other parts of the province that exist on the ground but have been brushed off in all census exercises.

It is also important to examine the geopolitical situation of the region. When there is a war going out in just not tribal belts of Pakistan but in settled areas of NWFP, when there are daily incursions of many forces, including our friends and enemies inside Pakistan. When our neighbours to the east are setting up diplomatic posts in Kandahar and Jalalabad and feeding the enemies of Pakistan. How can we even think, of supporting an idea of, further dividing communities in NWFP?

Let’s settle this once for all. Let’s put Pakhtunkhwa to referendum in NWFP. And pass the constitutional reform package without the renaming us, with government commitment to hold a referendum within 30 days of passing the constitutional reform package.

Also I think a resolution in the NWFP provincial needs to be tabled: which should be brief and simple: “At this auspicious occasion, when 18th amendment is tabled, the political parties of NWFP hereby resolve the following:

We will defend, protect and fight for the protection of geographical integrity of Pakistan. We will not allow anyone to divide Pakistan and will spill our blood defending Pakistan.

We consider Pakistan as our homeland and will celebrate its independence day by hoisting her flag at our political headquarters on every August 14th. Our Party president will lead the ceremony.

We consider Quaid-e-Azam as our undisputed national leader and will install his picture in our political headquarter and will celebrate December 25th at our political head quarters every year and our party president will lead the cake cutting ceremony.”

One other requirement for the resolution should be that it may not be passed by a voice vote. All members of the provincial assembly should be asked to caste an open YES or NO vote.

If they do this, they can call NWFP any name they want, for all I care.

I was watching the program on garbage and filth around the mosque. I am sure you have been around  the major hospitals, courts, offices, and shopping malls and seen the amount of garbage around those. I am a physician and worked in civil hospital and jpmc in the past. I have myself  seen how frequently our hospital floors were cleaned and they were same in next 5 minutes. when people don't want to change their living conditions,  what can you do about it? Force them or convince them? I think its a long way to go!!

faisalqureshi

Thanks very much. Please feel free to call tonight… BUT…. you need to be crisp in your comments since we need to take as many calls as possible.

I don’t mean to be pessimistic, but if 60% problems of Pakistan could be solved by suggestions we wouldn’t be where we are. We need more people taking action than we have.

Alas!!!

faisalqureshi

Yes it’s a long way. One can quit if there’s a choice. I don’t have one.

Shahzad Alam

Thanks for reply, can  i call you before your show start like right now or after half an hour from now, so in this case you can take more of peoples comments.

If you think that my suggestions are somewhat ok to resolve common people   you can mention my suggestion in your program and just to let you know that i am willing to work on these suggestion and idea, i only believe in action which i can do if we can arrange 10-20 experienced & qualified people in specific field, Let me know if its possible otherwise i'll call you live on your show although I able to see your program live in Canada.

Thanks & Regard,

Salam Fasail bhai…

i just want to say that  u r soo rite tht the problem with us is that we r always telling others wot they should do n do nuthing else …y is it easy to point finger at others n nt most diifficult to accept our own faults…parents telling there children falan ka bacha doctor ha falan ka bacha engineer aur tum wahi ke wahi but y dont they realise tht people of there age r doctors n engineers too???? n teachers critisizing students n students cursing there teachers…..Its easy to laugh at the back of the people, but samne bolne ke liye bara jigar chaheye …its easy to talk about changes but difficut to be the change  we WANT !!! ik ik pani ka katra samandar banata ha aur ik gandi machli pure talab ko ganda kar deti ha…if every1 of us start making ourselves better, phir tu mulk he sudar jae ga !!!! ….

Shahzad Alam

faisalqureshi

the number will be open once the show starts…. +92-213-430-1904

Shahzad Alam

sorry no luck with ph talk with you, i am still trying let see

I was trying to call you last night on your FQ2 @ 0213-4301904 but was unable to connect, anyways, being a reader and a person who likes to read about whats going on in this world, i wanted to suggest in your program that Pakistan should follow the steps of Brazil, they said to united nations that we are under huge debts and we have nothing for our people so from now on we will be exporting wood and wooden items taking it from Amazon, we are only responsible for our people and not for whole world, every one knows that Amazon are the lungs of this world, so all countries decided to let go of the interest and the actual amount of Debts on Brazil, Pakistan should do the same, we need water in our country, till now we are saving ice in our mountains but once we decide that we will be melting it for our people( you know how), now one must understand that this Glacier is not only good for us but its the biggest reflector of the harm full sun rays we can make world understand the nature of our problem.

We will resolve 2 issues with it, the world will pressurize India not to hold our waters and if they dont we can flood india with Siachin's water and breaking their Dams with the heavy flow.

Its a win win situation for us not for India……………

Tanveer

One of the locals asked me during my Kuwait stay 2 years back that how come a poor nation (Pakistan), since he knew I was Pakistani, build a nuc-device if they can't even make a good match stick. Rida, how would you reply to this guy?

The way I responded, can't post here!

Rida

Lol nah that would be an easy reply from me:

"Because Pakistanis have been given very little opportunities to invent things. Majority of Pakistanis are illeterate, the educated middle class is leaving Pakistan and shifting to developed countries. Whatever they do, whatever skills they have lead to help the country they are living in. But not Pakistan.  Reason Pakistanis are slow at inventing matchsticks. Regarding Nuc-device, to this day Pakistanis are 'india fixated', they only created nuclear device to show India how superficial they are. Yeh…sadly the hatred is still alive. I personally do not believe having a nuclear bomb's helping us get rid of this hatred between Indians and Pakistanis. Again: pay no thanks to my elders. They have done no good to my poor country".

Yep- that had been my response. ;)

Dr Mehar Saeed

Dear Mr Faisal Qureshi,

Well done for your great effort to make a moral revolution. I try to watch all your programs whenever possible. One of the reason is that you are not diplomatic. You are not saying things to please sponsors or leaders. Good on you. Well few minutes ago I watched you on TV ONE drawing room, where you were discussing the value of time. These are the values that we have forgotten over time. Now it's become our attitude. We are socially accepting all our weaknesses and our next generation carrying our wrong attitudes as norm.  Your discussion has reminded me and my husband a life changing incident. It was my husband's first or second day in Melbourne at Monash University. There was one Pakistani Professor in physic department. When he came to know that there's an international student in Biological Science,he left a message in my husband's lab that he would like to see us on Friday at 2:00. My husband went for Friday prayers and after that he got indulge in conversation with his friends and totally forgot about his appointment. Suddenly he realised and rushed towards the department. He found a note on his door "Mian, you are not in Pakistan anymore, 2'o clock mean 2 not 2:15. I waited for 10 minutes. Hope to see you when you are free…….It was very embarassing for him and since then we are always on time….We carry a tag of latecomers with us. Come on my fellow Pakistanis just start to change our life attitude for our own benefits-for our own self respect.

Tanveer

Pakistan has spent valuable time in developing nuclear program and neither we were poor nation when it was started. Unfortunately the history is not documented and our media is not interested finding out facts and present to the nation. Now the point I initially tried raising, we have skilled people who are competent and have sound knowledge over nuclear reactors; but no one is taking initiative.

Tanveer

Asalam-o-alekum,

What is the point behind raising this NATIONAL ANTHEM issue now! This anthem was approved by the parliament; and to the best of my knowledge QUAID-E-AZAM never APPROVED any anthem in his life; request someone to write something is not endorsement!

Rida

We are a poor nationTanveer, for your kind information Pakistan's poverty level's in the medium-high category according to Unicef. Media can only provide facts if the so called 'professionals' give them these facts. They can't make things up. It is you- the Pakistanis, who do not provide any valid facts, my point can be proven on the basis that three politicians who came to Bang-e-dara 'promised' to give facts/ figures YET, did NOT provide.

Stop blaming media, because media people are trying their very best to obtain statistics, yet it is these corrupted politicians/ bribed professionals who don't give/ share this information.

History is written- also documented (watch the documentary '60 Years of Celebration Pakistan' on the SBS channel).

We 'may' have talented people in Pakistan- who 'may' know about nuclear device- but for 1) they are running away from Pakistan HENCE:2)  they are NOT taking the initiative themselves. Which is what  you said, and what i said before you.

Assalam o alaikum Faisal

WIthout going into any undue details, i would like to suggest something. You are one of the fortunate people in Pakistan with the power to change or try to change something in Pakistan.

I would like to suggest that instead of calling these hope less politicians on the TV channels and let them speak and be famous and known for doing nothing. Why dont you actually start using your program to educate the people of Pakistan on what to do when there is a problem. The problems can be small but the education is to make people aware of where to go and what is the power of a normal person.

Every other channel is talking on national issues and we are getting no where…

If you go down to grass root level and take one issue a normal person is facing and take it as a case study and guide him on what steps to take and where to go… I dont know if its crossing any legal limits but as you go with Faisal qureshi and point out how people park wrongly and dont care…. that is a good initiative similarly at that level i find you intellectually very capable of doing it… Please do guide me if i am getting too optimistic here…

Dearest Sir Faisal,

My name is Atif Alam Gill. I am 21 Years Male. My aim in Life is to be an Actor. How can I make my dream possible. I don't have any contacts in Television Industry, but I have the potential to be a great TV Actor. Please Help me out with this…!

Give me some suggestions.

Salamu-alaikum,

I've been watching your show on and off, and the other day you mentioned the dirt around the Masjid, this was happening when I was in Karachi in the early 1960s; same situation. Where I lived there was a Masjid that had sewage covering the road, and nothing has changed. It's interesting to know that in 2010 the same things are happening from 50 years ago. I was watching today and in disbelief of the poverty, and the trash that lined the streets. The only solution to this problem is to have a system of accountability in the country; I have heard these words from few politicians. I am glad that you are aware of these issues and trying to bring about change. Good luck.

Assalam-o-Alaikum   Dear all    on the Wall including Mr. Faisal Qureshi Saheb

A very interesting discussion is going on these days on nealy all channels and all our anchor's are tyring to solve a MURDER MYSTRY………….THOUGH EVERY ONE IS TRYING TO PLAY Sherlocks Homes, thus every one is missing out on the poor Dr. Watson?? and the good old saying "ELEMENTRY WATSON ELEMENTRY".

Elementry questions: (Part one)

1: Why did BB stood up?

2: Who opened the escape hatch (so called sun roof) so that she could stand up, for her?

3: Why was she not stopped by the companions sitting inside with her?

4: How many phone calls were received by her and others who were in her vehicle on mobile phones? (record off these calls should be made public ……YES/NO?

Dear Faisal

Do you know any person who can provide musical notes of Pakistan national anthem to West Indian Authorities? What are our foreign office doing? What is PCB or ICC doing about this? Where can I enrole my protest?

Shaharyar

Minister of Defense Ahmed Mukhtar said “the international Forces (it means Energy Cartel) don’t want to build the Kala Bag Dam.”That he know, why the international Forces (Energy Cartel) don’t want to build the Kala Bag Dam.

He is a Minister of Defense he had authority to make policies how can we come out from this disaster. He just said and blame, but not doing some thing.

It means that they are all part of International Forces (Energy Cartel)

Are we haven’t single real Pakistani Patriot.  Ahah,,,,,,,,,,.

shahabj

Please arrange a program on curbing religious terrorism which is a major problem in Pakistan. Why has Pakistan army failed in stopping suicide and time bombings even after 10 years of continuous war on terror? Why can't these terror groups be eradicated? You through media can educate our youths how dangerous is this mindset. You can even go beyond that and have discussions as to who is sponsoring and financing these terrorists?

Rehan Raja

Two policies that should be implemented!

1. No politician should be able to leave the country for two years once there term has ended. They should be trialed and tested (screened) thoroughly to leave pakistan.

2. Every terrorist like the one recently caught in New york caught overseas should be brought back in pakistan and publicly executed without any discussion or influence with 24 hours of his arrival.

Praying for better days, I hope some positive light is shed upon my suggestions. Looking forward

Atlast Rafiq Sb was able to stay on pitch for 40 mins.
Looks like this government has given some short courses to ther workers with title of “HOW TO KILL 40 MINS ON ANY LIVE SHOW”

amiryousuf

ASA,

i don't know why but i have now growing feelings that faisal you do not do enough homework about program before conducting it.

in my point of view, there are millions of issues about "kachi-abadi" in sindh and especially in karachi but you did not ask him a single question about that. Instead you are arguing him like any other tv-political-leader.

asking right question is good but asking this right question to a right person is; in my humble opinion, more common sens.

faisalqureshi

Of course. You’re right. I’d really urge you to come help me. Sit in on the show with me.

Asad Anwer

Hi all,
We have been hearing about VAT these days. Can someone elaborate that will it help a common man or prices of different things will further go “OUT OF REACH” for common man.
If you can also give example price of any 1 item.

amiryousuf

i got your point ! This is my responsibility as well to participate in the nation building process.

i wish i could participate in your tv program physicaly, when ever i will come to pakistan (if my PhD supervisor agrees) i promise i will talk to you on this but what we will talk this will remain a million dollar question.

meanwhile please accept some +ve critisim from side.

and why would you want your "PHD Supervisor" agree? you want to do sometihng for Pakistan do it cause you want to do it from the heart. or you can stay where u are,

thanks .

faisalqureshi

Thanks very much. :)

Its 3:30 am. There is no electricity since last 2.5 hours. Raja Parvez Ashraf, why the hell don’t you buy electricity from China & Iran? But then how will you justify these rental power projects for which you have issued advance amounts even to those which have not started performing yet.

You guys have increased the price of electricity by 60% in last 15 months & still 6% increase is due which anyways you will do coz of IMF pressure.

Remember there is a “JANGLI & WEHSHI” even inside a literate person. This government & especially energy sector is pushing everyone to that extend that YOU (ministers) will be finding places to hide.

Sajan Malik

Dear Faisal

I wonder what to call last night's Bang e Dara. You MashaAllah did well – rather fabulously well managing the programme. I wonder what to label Fauzia Wahab's conduct as. Was she rude – was she belligerent - was that the fact that she is in the power corridors – was it that she thought that she owned the programme ?

She was outright rude – that is for sure, but then I guess that is a PPP hallmark.

But what hurt me most was the fact that she directly or indirectly expressed her disgust for that class of people who could stand up and question what is right and what is wrong i.e. the educated class. The obstinacy with which she defended – I must credit her for her persistence – Dasti was mindblowing. I wonder what is wrong with the PPP. Believing in loyalty is good but do they not have an iota of shame left in them to prod them that there is something known as ethics and morality too ? Guess not, but I give you full marks for the way you twisted her around that cheechee of yours and got her to show her true colours, what she "really" stood for, and the lowlife that the PPP really is.

Dasti a leader ? My you-know-what…

saleemdurrani

I agree with your suggestions…….

Ali

Hi Faisal,

The real reason for closing access of facebook is not the disrespect of our beloved prophet. It is because former Prez Musharraf's page is getting a lot of hits & following. More than 200,000 which I recall you mentioned in your show. it has exceeded 200K. I had it checked through a friend of mine in USA. I just wanted to inform you about it.

I also wanted to double check with you whether this is true. Probably the current government is scared of his rising popularity & there is lot of talk of trying to bring him to Pakistan & register treason cases against him.

Could you please bring this point in your May-20 show on Thursday.

Looking forward to it.

faisalqureshi

You actually think a facebook “following ” of 200000 will win Musharraf an election in a country which he conveniently “forgot” to educate?

And do you really think the President or the Chief justice gives a hoot about it?

Hi Ali

brother it now our habit to make political issue of everything its true that Musharaf sahib is having 200,000 followers on face book and increasing everyday,  but face book is blocked because of the other issue that is not fare also. Faisal is right that you cant stop any mob by blocking them there should be some other civilized way like we are doing a symbolic boycott just to record our protest and show the world that something is gong wrong. hope i made my point clear.

sir hats off 2 u….ur da best anchor ive seen till nw coz u r da persn who wakes da pakistani inside oneself n thank u so much 4 doin dix….i really want 2 meet u inshAllah i will wen m in pak soon….keep up da gud wrk sir…

waqas ishaq

aslam o alikum!

all we need my friends is courage to speak up the truth, truth to our ownselves.lets be accountble to our ownselves.if we really love this country and  want to change the disastrs situation we need to start from individual level.as faisal rightly said this might b about throwing garbage in dustbins, dis might be about not cheating even if u have the opportunity to cheat.we need to develop this sens of truth within ourselves.

Sajan Malik

Not the Chief Justice but the President does in fact give two hoots about the General's on-going popularity. Maybe even the CJ does – who knows but the the question that arises is: HOW WILL BLOCKING FACEBOOK SERVE THE DECLARED PURPOSE TO COUNTER BLASPHEMY ?

Rehan Raja

It is a real shame of what is really going on in Pakistan. Corrupt and dishonest people are being given unnecessary shelter by the President or the government. The sad part is that every influential or the person with the power is one way or another supporting that.

From uneducated politicians to people who abuse there powers to achieve money are day by day increasing in the government. This is not something surprising. When I was a kid or at least in my early years of growing up, I used to see Asif Zardari with long moustaches behind the prison bars (because of corruption and nothing other than that), now when I have grown up he is the bloody President of my country!  So we cannot really blame of what is going on, because it is self explanatory.

A person who spent nearly a decade in the jail for fraudulent activity is now the head of state, we aught to expect such disgusting events taking place. One can even judge how much someone is educated by the way they look, dress up and talk as well as the mental caliber of that person to see weather they are fit for a position in politics , you really do not need to go and look at their degrees.

Could I suggest and request you the next time you have some political person at your show ask them some estimating exercise, designed to make them think on their toes, using logic and common sense (if they have any). An example would if you call Pervez Ashraf (electricity) just ask him how many (approximately) light bulbs or tubelight would be there in Pakistan. He doesn’t need to give the right answer but atleast we could know how they THINK. As it is quite apparent that everyone is thinking from the backside when it comes for the betterment of the country. I am sure the question I mentioned above is not a impossible, some company’s (management consultants) have such questions when they are interviewing candidates for a job. I am sure a politician shouldn’t have a problem answering such questions.

One more thing, I don’t see how bringing General Musharaf would be in good interest of Pakistan where as the liars and traitors are ruling the country or being pardoned! I don’t see how that Dasti guy would be an asset to the nation other than saying ‘May Mazdoor’. What kind of example do the rulers give to the peope who are earning an honest living by working 9-6 or 6-5 or perhaps some 24 hours. What kind of example are they giving to the youngsters who are gearing up for their entry exams to get into top notch universities?

raza.syedzaidi

AoA Faisal, first I want to thank you that you were almost all the time in the last program having tea with your right hand (except for a brief moment but no worries for that) secondly as I said in my email that alot of people like me take your words and your comments seriously as we all believe that you are an honest man, last night you said some thing about a mosque and the waste around it for the last year and half, I missed that episode of your program and I do not know the location, please let me know the address I will gather people and we will physically clean the surroundings of that mosque our selves with all methods and resources we have, no need to talk to the officials, if they do it its good, if they dont; we can do the work with  our own hands ( I mean it).

I would like to differ from your comment which you wrote in your email that It is not just that I only ask my children to eat with right hand, but a lot of other good basic things like cleaning the part of street that is in front of our house and disposing off the garbbage in proper place, not to fight with others untill it's absolutly necessary, not to play music with loud sound, treat searvents properly (not to abuse them and give them the same kind of food that we eat) etc.

Secondly, please let me and others know what we can do to help that poor girl you were mentioning about in last night's program, we will definitly do it.

Lets just start working and stop talking all the time what we can do and what we can't.

I will be waiting for a reply.

Regards,

Raza

faisalqureshi

1. The mosque is an official dump. You can NOT clean it.
2. We kill for Sunnat’s, and Kill the Faraiz. Think abou tit.
3. Let’s stop waiting to work, and let’s just start talking.

Nothing can change unless you change the way you think.

Nasar Siddiqui

Dear Faisal,   I was watching this program yesterday in which you were there as a guest along with two other politicians. I was quite impressed by your sincerity and the way you were authoritatively questioning these politicians on various issues. Please keep up the good work..

You are a good anchor and do create an impresion on your TV programs. Often i have seen you talking about youth and their development.

You must be aware that there is tremendous growth on internet – globally as well as in Pakistan – Thanks to Dr. Ata for his efforts. While internet has a  phenomenal repository of information and research for our youth, however, our internet in Pakistan is not protected and any objectionable/obscene web sites can be accessed easily. Majority of our This needs to be addressed to the concerened authorities. All that we need is some upgradation in the form of fire-walls and security on our main communication internet trunk through the ministry of technology or ministry of communication.

Recently, the people of Pakistan have protested against facebook and we were able to block this site so there is no reason we cannot protest against these obscene sites as well.

Pakistan is an islamic republic and therefore can you please help to eradicate this menace from our society. Do let me have your feedback whenever you have time,

Best Regards,

Nasar

faisalqureshi

As long as people want to see something, they will.
We banned alcohol in Pakistan, and it only became more out of control. We’re now a nation of alcoholics of every age. (watch tonight’s show)

If you really want to change anything then change the way you think first.

Rhan Raja

One thing everyone keeps forgetting is that, blocking the face book website does not really make a difference till the number of users is affected. Boycotting face book means to delete your accounts permanently and not temporarily!

I am sure there are quite a lot of us who might have just deactivated the account for the time being and will be back once everything is back.

Again, if you are referring to pornographic websites to be banned, people who want to see such things still can. There a lot of other ways on the internet one can get access to such things even if the websites are banned.

The thing is banning them doesn’t make a difference till people stay away from it themselves. Be it facebook or any other thing. Just like cigerates! be the change you want to be! I bet you hadnt deleted your facebook accounty till the right was taken away from us.

Which again shows our love for the “DHANDA RULE”

Rehan Raja

One of the callers talked about implementing Islamic laws, which isn’t a really bad idea if initiated step by step. For example, if commercial centers are closed for the time of prayer (20 minutes) we could be saving some electricity and could be swapped for shops being opened till 9.  It is a suggestion, and I am pretty sure there would be a lot of advantages one can find.

The thing is everyone shows gives the solution, but no one really tells how to get there.  I am pretty sure you have skills and resources to create some wonderful awareness campaign that can actually influence a quite big range of audience.

It would be really appreciated if you could highlight the development projects in the Coal industry where a hell lot of coal is being dug out. Talking about the opportunity it would be creating for the country for youngster to pursue career opportunity. Talking about the Hunza problem. We need to shout out loud that we can do it so the government and the people with power feel humiliated and feel accountable. Zardari and Gilani just announced funding for the Hunza people, the PPP party claim that as if Zardari and Gilani gave it from there pockets!

Girls getting raped or being exploited, well that is also one of the trend of the 21st century. I mean just look at the advertisements going on our channels, all we can see is Telenor, Mobilink, Ufone, Zong claiming cheap call rates. Bros and Sister is that what we really want? Talking and texting to our boyfriends or girlfriends all night long and just doing all the uncreative things?

Khair anyways..

Syed Zeeshan Shah

Assalam-o-Alaikum brother:

Name a single time even the prophet's when there was no crime. None its human nature to err and at the same time its human nature to correct. We learn mostly from our surroundings we adapt and modify our personality. There are very few people who have the charisma to mould the surrounding environment for better or for worse.

Unfortunately, most of us think we donot belong to that particular group of people. cheers. We just made our environment worse by not contributing to it. The truth is, we all can contribute and share the responsibilty of creating the world a better place. We have a lot of people who are bitterly fighting with the system against it for a change but by the virtue of hard times they cannot accumulate and make a force. If you know what i mean. Its high time we look for them in us. Please do that sincerely and don't fall in with the rank when doing that (although i know its a hard). As for Pakistan we allocated a place for a mosque and entered in a vow with Allah to make it an Islamic Welfare state. Then we removed the word welfare from it and made a plaza of national security over it. Its our destiny to live like we do now unless we go back to the beginning and start developing over our 1500 years of history.

We today are only left with the shariah(Law) that is only taught in madaris and we are so bent to destroy it rather than evolve it to match the current times. If you would like to make a difference promote the idea of Islamic Welfare State. I hope you don't see this as a call for killing that we so fondly call jihad. Although its precisely a call for Jihad.

Please excuse my religious bug but when you are an anchor and appearing in a public program nothing you do in that time is personal. So when people point out something like you are holding the cup in your left hand all the things like the unfortunate girls being raped or sold(my heart bleeds for them all) aside don't take it on a personal level. Its just like justifying one bad thing with another. There are many ahadith for that. Just correct it and let it go. When you say bad things going around our lives so we shouldn't worry about little things its like you becoming Ms Fauzia Wahab. Again sorry for any thing that i said that you wouldn't like.

Syed Zeeshan Shah

Please refer to my post above and don't be pessimistic decide on a course of action and follow it through whereever you are and whatever you are doing you'll find that when you go to bed at night you sleep well. Our media presents the facts every day and we don't. How things were in Pakistan are how things are in Pakistan. If you want to find out about the fall of Dhaka look around us you'll see many Dhakas in making.

If you want to see how Liaqat Ali khan was killed look at Benazir's murder as well as her brother Murtuza. As for no one is taking initiative. How do you know that? Just contribute whatever you can and forget about what others are or are not doing. Corrupt have long leashes. Patience is a virtue and also a weapon. Take the sleeping pill of deciding on a course of action and following it through. Many people doing that will create a better society. Perhaps find someone to teach. Treat you maids and servants better. Let them feel as human beings. I find that people complaining about the system are a part of that system as they have the same mindset of treating the poor badly. Please please treat your servants and lower classes like you would treat yourself. Instead of sheeday zara chaiye le a say bhai Shahid zara chaiye to pila do. Meharbani hogi. Be humble. Forget nuclear reactors and politicians when our lower classes feel they have rights they'll help changing the system. And that's how the systems change first you create equality. If we want law make sure the first law that we follow is equality. Be tolerant of others.Spread knowledge talk to people that you come in contact with. Contribute, share ideas.

Dear Faisal, about this target killing in Karachi, don't you all think its a diversion tactic by PPP people’s specially if you pay a little attention that when ever Zardari’s come to Karachi this type of problem occurs and they get away from media attention in their matter as well as they can get an excuse to postponed local bodies election.

Sajan Malik

Wow ! I think I have missed a lot here. Let me pen my thoughts. I hope there is some coherence.

1. We are a nation of hypocrites and are blessed with leaders who are worse.

2. For some reason – God Bless Allama Iqbal – he mixed the Religion with the State. Judaa ho deen siyaasat say to reh jaati hai changezi. FRANKLY, I dont quite agree.

3. Religion is a personal affair and should be kept as such. Politics is a disgrace and will remain so.

4. Alcohol is an evil and has been banned in Islam – as have many other intoxicants. Why is tobacco and nasvaar allowed then ? Banning alcohol in Pakistan – I agree with FQ here – has done more harm than good. Alcohol sales are flourishing and doing better sales than anything else. HAs banning it achieved anything ? YES – revenues that could have been going into Government coffers, are going into private coffers.

5. What should be done is to fortify your personal beliefs and IMAAN. Then if there is a bottle of beer in front of you and your IMAAN says NO, then abstain.

6. CHild psychology dictates not to stop a child from approaching a burning stove or a hot iron. Dont stop the child. Let him touch it once – he will never touch it again. You stop the child, and curiosity will kill the cat.

7. Yes – with these glamourous adverts on TV, we maybe giving our youth wild ideas, but then, how about the parents properly policing their kids ? You let your fifteen year olds (both boys and girls) go to parties that spill over into the wee hours of the next morning. What do you expect ?

8. Dont blame the government for everything. How about moving your rear-side yourself for a change ?

The issue is we will continue to blame everything on the Government ( I would ove to blame them myself) but do we ever do anything ourselves ? We blame the Government for corruption, immorality, and every vice on earth, but then ourselves elect cheats like Dast, criminals like Rehman Malik and incompetents like Pervez Ashraf into Office

faisalqureshi

Rehan Saheb. You are invited to be on the show tonight to give your perspective. Please email me at fq@fqnow.com urgently to confirm. Waiting.

faisalqureshi

I have said it repeatedly….. We kill for sunnats and we kill all faraiz. Keep it up.

faisalqureshi

I wish. Just that some comments can make any sane man suicidal. ;-)

ASLAM u ALIKUM !!! FAISAL, i want to draw your attention towards the pathetic condition of my residential area that is AHSANABAD, Scheme#33, Gadap town . I have seen your several programs in which you had visited certain areas depicting their problems . Bundles of problems are waiting for the authorities concern to be pondered over it is the biggest residential scheme where land grabbers is increasing by leaps and bounds . I want to invite you and request you to do a program on the problems of AHSANABAD SOCIETYso that the higher authorities may take the necessary actions . PLZ DO VISIT and see the root facts .

Sincerely yours.

Thanks for your reply, I just want to make one thing clear, I totally agree with Syed Zeeshan Shah that if you are a famous man you need to be a bit care full in what you are doing and saying, I did not want this right left issue to be publicaly discussed as it was just a suggestion to you ( I still believe a god suggestion backed up with an example) sent on your email and not posted on any wall, I did not want people to waste time on discussing this issue but you to look into it your self, I will repeat my words, "it is not the matter of discussion but a rule that we need to follow blindly", any ways kindly stop discussing about this left right thing, if you want to do it, it  will be ideal, if not…………….I don't know what to say.

I will repeat my questions once again….  if that is an official dump place please advice what can I do to undo it.

What can I do to help that poor girl who was rap…. by police, she is just 16 she has a long way to go in life, I have one suggestion, how about if I officially take her to my home as my fourth KID and take care of her till the time I live….. what say you.

You want people to come forward and help others as Pakistanis here you go, I can be one.

Let me remind you one thing, I have not killed/ threatened  you to kill on not following the sunnah, do you agree to that?????????????

I agree to you, we do not live as nation, but as Indiciduals who knows there can be a lot more people who probably have changed their lives, like I stop the usage of Sugar in my house/ my life after seeing your program.

I will once again say, people like me take your words and actions seriously as it seems that you are an honest man………

Raza Zaidi

faisalqureshi

In the absence of an elected local bodies I really can’t help you. I guess we have to wait.

faisalqureshi

Raza Saheb. This left right has been there for almost two years now. You didn’t start it.

faisalqureshi

I do and say what I believe. I’m willing to take criticism, discussion, and I’m more than willing to change myself….. but only on matters that matter. Changes that effect lives of others.

Rehan Raja

I agree with some points you made. I agree with religion with being something personal but still there has been a set of instructions to be followed.

Talking about kids partying and parents asked to be vigilant about their child’s activities. Well you need to know that most of our parents are not from the same generation. The child of today is really smart than the child of yesterday (THERE IS A BIG GENERATION GAP!). They can trick or come up with any excuse they can. I am pretty sure there is no 15 year old partying till early morning! But yes there are youngsters who are doing that. But again, you need to catch the people who are funding and organizing such events!

Satan is everywhere bro, he is going to try to mislead you and me (everyone) on every opportunity he gets! Sorry to say this wouldn’t be realized from many of us cause we have made religion a statement. We just read the quran whereas we wouldn’t know what it actually means.

What I am trying to say is that there must be some rules and regulations for advertisement agencies. Getting a sim or a cell phone is not some rocket science for anyone to get hold off and parents cant be breathing under their child noses every time! Believe me one of the major reason girls ending up being exploiated on facebook and youtube is because of the cheap call rates and easy accessibility! We have indeed abused technology and not really used it!

You talk about not blaming the government and moving my rear-side? I don’t see why not! Yesterday they were saying edible goods worth 4 crore rupees and supplies worth 700 million have reached Hunza! Today once Gilani left the stage, residents started protesting that those claims are all lies! Come on man! They are just incompetent man! Jahil hai, I don’t even think Zardari is educated enough (read and speaking English doesn’t make u one).

They clearly don’t have any strategies man! They just bullshit there way in and out of everythinmg. Pervez Ashraf was supposed to finish the load shedding and now Gilani says everything will be sorted by the 24-25th May in Hunza. How?? No ones know, all we know that they experts like Dasti and Kaira who know jack shit are the experts! Just look at the spill way man! Its clearly smaller than a Nala! And it not even properly done! I’m not blind mate. The funny thing is there is a word that it might not even be useful! Jahil hai saray! They can give out a car workth 2. 5crore for one guy, and there fund for saving 25k plus people is not even 5 crore! man

I will repeat my questions once again….  if that is an official dump place please advice what I can do to undo it.

What I can do to help that poor girl who was rap…. by police,

I have been asking these question for 2 days now and willing to seriously work  on these issues, please advice………………….. or just give me the address of that mosque and the contact of the kid I will see what I can do on immediate basis.

Raza Zaidi

Kamie

Assalaam Alaikum mr. Qureshi sahib,

I live in Netherlands but was born in Karachi. I am one of your biggest fans and watch your program regularly. I am proud of you as a presenter you are true Pakistani and patriot. I have one request and i want to know what you think about it. Most of the discussion programs talk about the politics and discuss politics.

Don't you think its about time (and i hope that you my dearest mr. Faisal) start a revolution and start talking more about EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION AND AGAIN EDUCATION.

You know very well what is the role of the media in the society and only the media can start this EDUCATIONAL-REVOLUTION and from there onwards insha Allah things will improve.

We can discuss for hours on tv but if the 75 % of the masses are "angootha-chaap-unparh" then how will they get what you are saying on television.

If the media can remove MUSHARRAF and get back IFTEKHAR CHAUDHRI then why can't the media
make sure that the government increases the budget for educaton and not only INCREASE but has CHECK and BALANCE on the spending so that paisa wahaan jayee aur laghe jahaan laghna chahyee.

Please without education everybody can talk talk on television but no one will get it my dearest mr. FAisal.

Please be the first in this and start at least ONCE a week (u have 6 programs) only once a week spend your whole program on how to improve education please please please.

Allah Hafiz and again i am really proud of you and your show really moves me everytime i watch it.

Comment:

Make a difference. And forget about facebook and other crap for now.

Pakistan needs an Internet Payment Gateway to take the middle classes(and others) out of their poverty. Or atleast give them an oppertunity

Request:

IF you can sell my suggestion to the GOP/PPP/MQM/PML/ that would be great.
But for that to work you will have to work with a slightly leftist feel.

Meaning for sometime you will have to dedicate yourself to this cause. (and this needs the ferocity of burning a few busses before anyone will even realize what you are talking about. )

The underline word here is "middle class".

i am not sure talking to expat dual passport holder CEO of Pakistan IT companies will be of any help here (not untill the ball is rolling)

faisalqureshi

I fully agree sir. Insha Allah very soon I will launch a project in this regard. In the meantime I’d invite you to join us on People’s Action Movement. It was on Late Facebook R.I.P. will try to move it to a forum over the weekend.

Thanks once again

faisalqureshi

Scream. people’s action movement. Hopefully it’ll be back up very soon.

faisalqureshi

The consumer is king. You control everything. Learn to use your power.

Sajan Malik

On the on one hand you preach religion and on the other, your language borders on hate and profanity. That is our main affliction nowadays. Satan is everywhere – you cannot choke off Satan. You have to build up your own IMAAN to tackle evil. Evil will not go away by simply banning it. Had that been the case, Allah SWT would not have created evil. The fact that there has been crores of misappropriation is simply someone succumbing to temptation. The best part is you and me are blowing our top off but doing nothing otherwise. If our purpose is to convert people to our ideas, then we will have to convince them rather than bully them into joining us, and for that, love and simplicity will have to be the hallmarks – not belligerence

Sajan Malik

And a view I hold dear is THEY ARE ONLY A THOUSAND VOICES IN ALL – WE ARE THE REMAINING 180 MILLION. Now you decide who holds the balance of power – them or us ?

Rehan Raja

Apologies if my language gave you the impression of hate  =S, but sorry to say im not really happy with the government!  The point was to create a healthy environment, after all we are known as the “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” and I pretty am sure there is meaning behind it. Plus that was the vision of the founder of this country. Im not bring my personal thought in here.

True evil doesn’t go away by banning! But it sure discourages it to an extent!! Im talking about banning things with proper education and background…anyways (even though we love the dhanda system) I don’t know but I would suggest you do a little bit of research, the time a teenager spends time on the cellphone, who they are talking to, what times they talk to, what time do they get up etc etc. and once you have compiled it, youll get the picture

Don’t worry about blowing your top off, as long as you make sure your kids wont be when they grow up. I firmly believe that this generation of 1970-1990 can and SHOULD bring the change we want too see in Pakistan. If we fail. Then its tut tut….

Who cares if there is one or a thousand of us atleast there is someone! Let it grow, just make sure it doesn’t stop here!

Syed Zeeshan Zubair Shah

Well if i say please continue holding the cup in your left hand, or not say anything at all for that matter, I'll be a bad person.  Anyway that's too trivial an issue.

As for faraiz. Every one of us takes care of some of our faraiz and we fail to do so in some other cases. But the end result does not count. For you and i both will be judged on how hard do we try not what have we achieved. The problem with everybody these days is that we all are looking at the results without even trying to change them. You see, the results of our endeavours are not in our hands. So instead of looking at them (the results) continue doing the right. Try to do everything that is right whether it be sunnah or faraz or even something that we havn't learned of before as long as it matches the nature of our religion.

We progressed once. All those muslim scientists that we have heard of if you read their literature you'll find that they were trying to solve one social problem or another while keeping in line with their religion. They were religious people. You see we are doomed if we don't follow Islam in everything that we do. Why? Because its the touch stone for judging whether what we are doing is right or not.

You can officially call me a mulla or molvi or whatever you will now. That's usual for me but i'm only trying to help. Just try to find a little time for what Allah has advised us in Quran. Just a little. Every time i read that particular book i cry. Because its all about me. And i was searching every where but there for answers.

Syed Zeeshan Zubair Shah

I would definitely love this lady.

“Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

faisalqureshi

I’ll only question your bases for judging me or assuming I don’t fulfill my “faraiz” just because I falter on a “rivayat / sunnat”. I don’t want to enter into a needless debate.

I suggest you worry about what you’re doing to the world. Your matters with Allah are your own matters.

As for my sins….. Let God be the judge of that. ;-)

Sir

An audiotape is circulating on every other website nowadays. In this recording one of the country’s top anchors and a prominent journalist, Hamid Mir, while talking to an alleged Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) member, made shocking comments about various things.

I've nothing to say about Khalid Khawaja or Al-Qaida etc. Through this prestigious forum I want to draw your attention towards the immoderate hatred comments about the Ahmadiyya Community by him.

We all know that media is certainly playing a vital role in developing the mind set of a society and this reality puts more responsibilities on the media giants.

The media group, Mr. Mir is working for, does not have a good record for such fragile and delicate matters of religious harmony and social peace in our country. Mir expressed his immoderate hatred for Ahmadiyyat while explaining Khawaja’s relations with Ahmadis, without proper proof though. But here I must add that the Ahmadis haven’t forgotten the September 7, 2008 show of the same media group by so-called Dr. Amir LIaquat. His comments on the show incited Muslims to target and kill followers of the Ahmadi sect and then we saw the two consecutive brutal murders of two prominent Ahmadis in Sindh province in next two days!

Ahmadis are already a persecuted community in Pakistan and they need their God given human rights, protection and security from such extreme and misguiding statements. I hope the Mir’s media group and the government will take notice of such sensitive indiscretions and proof less statements by him. What do you think about the yellow journalism spreading fast in our society?

Regards,

Sabahat Ahmad

Rehan Raja

After all there is nothing called 'Democracy' You talk about Ahmadis getting their rights, dude every citizen in this country is being stripped of their rights at the moment. We arent worth a shag at the moment!

Talking about religious and social harmony, sadly this country has never had any harmony in such matters.  Till the two majors sects Sunnis and Shia’s still fight I don’t see how Ahmadis would get be getting their piece of share when we got the superpowers fighting. Seems impossible.

There is too much of political motives behind every single thing. Ahmadis being banned or not given their rights is something that this country never got to know about in the first place. As far as I know they always been falsely accused or misinterpreated (especially the part where their called non muslims when they have same Kalima Shahadat as Sunnis). Yet still I do not really understand why this misunderstanding could not be cleared out till now (partially Ahmadis should blame themselves!). It’s the same problem everyone of us face, we never spoke for our rights, we kept our mouths shut when we saw evil and turned a blind eye to issues till they got to our peak  and then its too late.

Right now I think we need to focus as one nation and not to be divided (religiously, creed etc), think as we are Pakistanis and need to get rid of the dirt! Then we would be able to sort our act out.

Asalam Alaikum

Tell one thing by blocking You tube and face book did they serve any perperse no why they saying to world that see we cant do nay thing expect blocking website because we don't have any answer instead of blocking give them answer in their language so that they can understand

Facebook Ban waz an EZ Step for the Government, now what they will do for
Fauzia Wahab statement she also spoke against Quraan.

Syed Kamran

Assalam-o-alaikum, I having few questions in my mind which are clear and simple so i am asking u straight away.
Alhamdulillah we are all muslim and living in a Islamic state.but we are not practicing islam in the right way.I am trying to give some suggestion to our leaders, Ministers, Politician & all the concern authorities.
Please save our youngsters, children, Families from X-rated web sited because these webs are playing with our youths. We as a Islamic nation should ban & block all X-rated webs.
I am giving some example of islamic country like Indonesia, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iran.
One of my friend complain about their younger brothers.
He said, " I'm the oldest sibling in the house, I have the router in my room and my younger siblings use their laptops wirelessly. They're way too young to be looking at porn, but they do anyway. My parents don't know how to get the situation under control because they don't understand computers, and my little brothers lie about it".
My great concern is that how we can do as a muslim to save our young blood.Govt should ban all the X-rated web sites in pakistan like other islamic countries.i am begging to our leaders please don't fight over politics only but do constructive measure against this disease.I am also appealing to Chief Justice of Pakistan please do some action and save our children.
Thanks.

Syed Kamran

As usual, I watched your program today about the honour killing and domestic voilence issue. You are pretty right on we being useless as nation.

But don’t you think that part of the blame goes to those NGO’s that are supposedly   be working on these issue?

There are so many NGO’s working on:

1.     Womens Right/Empowerment

2.    Domestic Voilence

3.    Sexual Rights

4.    Educations

The list keeps going on. Don’t you think that these NGO’s are accounable, don’t you think we as a nation should have access to their reports on what they have been doing (not therotically but practically?)

I am based in Islamabad (not in Pakistan at the moment) but you will find NGO’s on every other corner of the city. These are mostly internationally funded, don’t you think we as a nation have right to go and knock on their doors and ask them what are you guys doing?

I will tell you a short story, I graduated last year from the Uk, I came to Islamabad the next very day after my last exam to start a future. I applied to jobs and I also looked into starting a business. To be honest, the most reliable people I knew for suggestions, suggested me to start an NGO. Not because I would be helping humanity, but the money was really good! Do you know how sad that sounds? Can you even imagine that more than 50% percent of the NGO operating are just for the sake of making money and not doing anyting. They just lease houses, get 4×4’s from the money there are funded with and not to mention HIGHLY paid staff. Do you the IT manager of an NGO earns 1.5 Lacs in a year after he joins an NGO? Does this amount even sound right? I am not blaming them for paying high salaries but I just want to know is that money justified?

Do you know most of the social emails, such as car accidents or some sad story etc etc is sent to me by people working in an NGO. Which basically shows the free time they have on them? While arent really being productive at work. DO you know NGO’s hire HR assistants to sort the lunch menu for the office for the months? Do you know the amount of time employees of NGO’s spend on facebook and youtube everyday?

I am not against NGO’s but I have big problem and a doubt of what they preach is not being practised. If they working hard enough let me assure MR. Faisal, we wouldn’t being seing those newspaper clipping you had with you today, not atleast 4 of them , but only one.

Cominig back to me, I left Pakistan in Decemeber 09’ and came back here, because of the lies and fraud that was going on. I couldn’t believe the NGO’s that are supposed to be helping humanity or the biggest criminals. Organizations in thewhole world are cutting costs to stay in business in the current financial crisis that’s hit the globe! NGO’s on the other hand have staff for recreational purposes? Just to fill in some invoices??

Nevertheless, your show does really motivate me to come back to paksitan, do what? I don’t know, but I would really appreciate if you could send a team of your highly qualified staff to Islamabad backed up with some influential resources, we can go and do an audit on these NGO’s.

nasar

i strongly agree to Syed Kamran's views of 23rd May on obscene web sites access to youth…..

Faisal,

You should take up this matter in your talk shows….if govt. can ban FB why not these sites-of many ills prevalent in our society this destroys youth and family life of many. i have written to you last week also but you have taken it very lightly and casually. all over the Middle-East and in Dubai which is much modern as compared to our Pakistan there is a restriction so why cannot we implement the same.

Best Regards,

Nasar

faisalqureshi

I don’t discuss topics without guests. Come sit on the show and we can discuss it.

Asad Anwer

Everyday day I see these MPA, MNA, Ministers escorted by Police mobiles, Security guards etc. They even stop all the traffic so these GREAT PEOPLE can pass by.  If 1 of them have to move from 1 place to another, a convoy of 15-20 cars move with them.

So 1st we elect them, then the tax amount which we pay they use it for increasing their protocol, security (Nokar & Chakars all around them) They will isolate themselves from general public as they feel insecure.

Ultimately their lives re more important & WE (Awam) are here to pay taxes so they can enjoy life in full swing.

Wah G Wah…

Dear Kamran

I totaly agree with you , this is very important issue and such sites should be restricted, but

Unfortunatly our government  is busy in other useless tasks and more over media didn’t raise this issue, no one know why??

Now it’s  request  for our media to highlight this issue to mobilize the masses for the banning  of such sites,

Rizwan

Asslam  O Alikum

Dear Sir

Kindly arrange show to discuss the "why Govt is not blocking PORN sites" Does these sites are helpfull for our us ,our government , our childres and for our culture,(leaving the religious side so that the liberial minds could easly partispate in this discussion)

hoping that you will arrange such show very soon with government and PTA officials and other guests

thanks

Fatima

asslamoaliakum,
you are doing really good my prayers are with u. since internet n its stuff is ''in'' these days i wana ask one thing i m with pta's decision very good decision i m not targeting those people but my point is that person was non-muslim if they do like that its something expected but what about atif aslam and rahet fateh ali khan who sang such songs lines were
atif aslam's tere liye movie prince lines go like '' janatein sajain mainay tere liye chord di Khudayii mainay tere liye''
rahat ali's song din chadeya movie love ajkal line goes like ''kaisa KHUDA hai tu bus Naam ka hai Rabba JO teri itni si bhi na chali..
like how ironic… muslim ho k how could they sing like that? itne anpard hain samjh nahi ati k kya bol rahay hain? is k oper koi reaction kiyon nahi? like WHY? hum log Khud impure hain tau dosre se acha kaisay expect kertay hain?
Facebook ban what about those illegal internet cafes n all increasing day by day ?
57% of pakistani population surfing their time on pornography?

i think i have no need to elaborate it more. where are we heading?

regards!!

Rehan Raja

your pretty right on that lyrics bit, i guess most of these songs are sung to target bollywood.  I am shocked at the level of shirk  (i bet there is some wana be "moderate slash open minded muslim" dis agreeing with me) these artist commit.

but do you know there are departments (SEO) in most of the IT oursourced companies that only work on facebook and social media sites. those people must be at a risk to get fired any moment or someting.

talking about positvity on banninng facebook and youtube. i think NGO staff would be really productive these days,  cause they would actually be working and not surfing on fb and youtube.

yeh true we are impure ourselves and are on the road to hell

we need to priortise things we need to do ourselves

Asalam aliakum

Dear Brother Faisal Qureshe

Issue as usual. What does the honourable Sindh High Court want to achieve by taking over the State Guest House in Karachi for the Chief Justice, a bullet proof car for the CJ, Land Cruisers for the honourable judges when they tour the interior of Sindh, and other perks and privileges ? Do they want to equate themselves with our law-makers (law being the common word here ?

But then I guess that they are Pakistanis as well and would very much want to join the BOOTY war, albeit late.

well faisal ur doing great work …!!sabahat our last prophet is hazrat mohammed (p.b.u.h) & we have to follow quran & sunah…if u don't belive it ur out of islam may ALLAH give u hidayat…& to all of us that we can live our life according to quran & sunah…arshad

سال70  پہلے ایک قوم کو ملک کی ضرورت تھی۔اور اب70 سال بعد ۱یک ملک کو ایک قوم کی ضرورت ہے۔

Democracy is the biggest curse for a country where literacy rate is almost 90%.

The politicians are cancer of Pakistani politics and there is no way these corrupt politicians can be replaced.

Faisal Qureshi you have a right to get dictated by these corrupt and illiterate politicians but have no right to put your next generation's future in their hands.

Pakistan is a failed country and the differences between rich n poor, corrupt and honest, literate and illiterate can never disappear.

Imagine people of Pakistan get exited over Facebook or Youtube but least bothered about the basic teaching of Islam.

They do not get exited when the innocent girls of poor people get raped by their own Muslim brothers.

As far as saying ADAB is concerned this is according to your culture and up-bringing and I do not see that this ends up hurting others.

Using left hand is a personal act which does not harm others and this should not be a point to make un-necessary fuss.

Muslims will always revolve around petty issues and will never concentrate on major issues.

Being a Muslim I believe that we must first concentrate on our own character and try to stand against evil rather than creating fuss for right or left hand and other petty stuff.

Faisal Qureshi there is no way you can make any difference through your program cuz ISS HAMAM MAEN SUB KAE SUB NUNGAY HAEN.

Take care and think again and leave Pakistan and find a place where you can bring up your next generation with pride.

Dear Faisal,

For quite some time now, i have been pondering over what i can possibly do to influence change. I come from a typical Pakistani family where the rules for women are very convoluted so stepping out of the house to participate in a rally for example is difficult for me (pretty much out of the question). However, i am armed with the internet and as a graphic designer and animator I would like to offer my services to you. Tell me what i can do because I get frustrated each time i try to think of something that will help in anyway.

Thanks,

Gul Aga.

nobody

a person who pays 5ooo Rs a year income tax has a security of 1075 persons and 3000 person who collectively pay far more 5000 Rs has none how ironic this is , in other words pay more tax be less secure and pay less get the best :-)

Rehan Raja

Yesterday the disgraced terrorists struck two Ahmadi Muslim Mosques in Lahore, killing more than 80 innocent people in the act of worship to Allah (SWT). May Allah grant them Jannat Al Firdous and grant patience to the bereaved.
I asked one of my friend who is an Ahmadi, about the reaction of Ahmadis, he patiently replies that we have been asked by the head of the jammat to be patient and make dua to Allah (SWT). They do not even have the word ‘protest’ in their dictionary.
Even after losing a number of people, we still do not see any protest or any kind of violence on the streets of Lahore. Unlike we the Sunnis and Shiahs would have done it. We would have gone mad, kill, burn down everything that came our away, just like previously in Muharram.
Shame on us, indeed. Ahmadis are true people of Allah. Just like the Prophet (PBUH) patiently took the oppression of the people of Makkah, and at one occasion his shoes were filled with blood, yet still never retaliated and made dua.
Shame on us! for calling them Kafirs. No wonder we are so cursed!!

Our history is witness that killing is not the answer of human race problems.

Humans must fight against evil and the diseases killing human.

God has given the life and he has the right to take it back, we the human must not kill each other in the name of religion, faith, colour, language and identity.

Let God be the judge.

You can change the world

Rehan Raja

Wasalam,

Tell that to your family, relatives, your friends. Convince them only than can we can take the first step. (Same goes to me and to everyone else)

Else its just talk, and talk is cheap.

Indeed Allah SWT is the best Judge.

i'm  trying my level best, rest of it depends on them cuz in the end all are entitled to their  preception!

Faheem Rajar

AssalamoAlaikum.

Do not talk about sympathy with Ahmedi while talking what happened with Pakistani citizens. Those are not true people of Allah who will not believe on Sarkar (Sallallahu-Alaihi-Wasallam) as last prophet. Aisa na ho key kisi ki hamdardi mein hum Kufria kalimaat na nikal dein.

Is sympathy restricted to 'Muslims' only? Brother, as muslims we should be more respectful and tolerant towards other human beings. It does not matter what sect or beliefs they followed. To shed a tear on the loss of life does not make one a kafir.

there is this guy called dr.awab (wwww.twitter.com/drawab) he needs a volunteer graphic designer .. give him a shout

Rehan Raja

sometimes u need to force people into something..i repeat sometimes, for the betterment

What ever happened in Lahore is not good for anyone as a nation………. regardless of what ever religion one follows, every one has a right to follow their religious rituals….. People who called in your program with Mr. Memon  saying that why dont they get the right to be called Muslims…. why dont they being considered Muslims………..  there are two answers…………

[ Rest of the message deleted ]

Answer: In Islamic society sympathy is not restricted to muslims only, but the talk is all about True People of Allah, and I believe Faheem Rajar was talking about the wordings of our Friend……….. in sympathy with non muslims do not go into emotions that you become part of them and start insulting islam with them………….

Dear Mr. Faisal Qureshi I am writting on behlaf of my teacher, sir we are looking forward to comeup with an soceity regarding Pakistan and Patriotism and for this we want to have you as spiritual motivator and mentor for our participants, for this we need your help because we as a team feel we can bring about change and as i watch you on TV speaking about Pakistan so i discussed about your name while the teacher was thinking of Mr. Zaid Hamid but having him in Peshawar for lectures can go wrong and you know it very well. So if you feel like joining us then please do reply me via mail.

Faisal

I have been watching your programs for the last 2-3 days. I admire your courage and pray that Allah keeps you safe. The point I want to raise is that its being said on Pakistani Media that the recent attacks in lahore is a continutation of the genreal wave of terrerism that is pervailent in Pakistan. While I agree with you in pricipal I must also point out that due to the discriminatory laws against Ahamdis in Pakistan the terrorists or the religious organizations they use have protection form the state it self.

I also want to point your direction to an incident that happened today in Narowal where another Ahmadi was stabbed by knife and throat slit. The attacker when captured bluntly stated that I did this because my Mullah told me that if you Kill an Ahmadi you'll go to heaven.

This incident is proof still that although this attack is linked with the terrorist wave in Pakistan it has roots in the more then 20 years Long persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan.

Once again praying for your safety

naeem

faisalqureshi

As long as we keep fighting and endorsing atrocities against humanity in the name of Ahmadi, Shia, Sunni, my type of Muslim, Yahudi, or whatever not, we have no way of changing anything.

We must learn to be objective and without prejudice.

We must learn to speak for justice without reason.

Naeem Ahmad

How true you are. I only wish that people of Pakistan realize this before its too late for all of us. The enemy is within us its strong and organised just look at the attack at the Jinnah Hospital last night. If we are to defeat this brutal and worst kind of inhuman attacker, we will have to act , speak out and learn to tolerate each other. Don't just do as we are told … think for our selves for once. Its time that we as a nation wake up, or else we'll sleep for ever….

A lot of things have happened these past few days and none of them were good. Friday's massacre in Lahore shook me to the core because some of my closest friends are from that Community and even based on tenents of humanity, any innocent life lost in this way, hurts me. I even lost a neighbour from back in Lahore. The thing that hurt me the most though I was expecting it was the by-way-of-formality lip-service that the Ulema hazraat paid to condemning this massacre. What shocked me though expected once again was the callous role played by the electronic media in giving live and graphic coverage to the incidents and then repeating them non-stop. The terrorists love such attention – does the media have to be in bed with the terrorists ? And then the camera glare on grieving victims ? How cold can you be ? I was expecting some ulema to come out by that evening to condone what had happened. I did not catch anyone doing that but was told that Mr Aalim online did precisely that.

And then what Israel did to that flotilla yesterday ? They were perfectly within their rights to do what they deem fit to protect their sovereignty. If we do not have the b—s to do so, then tough luck to us – they do and they did. What the hell was Talat Hussain doing on that flotilla ? Itna chaud tha shaeed honay ka ? Palestine and for that matter, the entire Ummah – how may times have they raised a voice when it comes to our problems ? Not once. And we have that keerra to be more royal than the king himself. Even if a dog dies in Palestine, we are the first to grieve. Why ? The hell with them – why cant we mind our own business ? We have enough woes of our own to go nosing around. It is high time we confined our focus to our own front yard and back yard as well and try to put things in order at home. The world can wait – Pakistan cannot. We have to save our own country FIRST

Aslamu Alaikum,

In our Media there is no one, EXCEPT YOU who speaks for PAKISTANI people. Wallah it’s fact. God bless you. I’ve few questions in my mind. These  I’m not asking from you, but only this that CAN YOU TELL ME THAT WHO WILL GIVE ME THE ANSWER AND WHO’S RESPOSBILBLE FOR ALL THESE?

Why this terrorism is not going to an end?

Who will give us jobs?

Why people’s real problems are not being discussed in our media?

Is our media is Free?

Is our current judiciary is fair and free?

Who is responsible for inflation?

Is our constitution is fair and according to basic human rights?

Assalam o alaikum
very first time writing you some thing but i watch your program more often then any other program in tv since ankahi.
today i was watching news about that cyclon that might hit pakistan beaches or caty bandar in thatta.
some thing we should take very extra precautions specially to stay away from the beaches since the government of karachi or pakistan announced (DAFA 144)in karachi beaches to keep the people away from those beaches,we should cooperate with the government.
But instead i watched on tv even more people are going to the karachi beach even with their small children
,and some funny comments that we are the brave people of karachi and we are not scared of water, the other lady said that we heard about that danger that is why we came here to see and there is no danger but we are enjoying it instead.
What kind of people we are feel sorry.
Teachers are the symbol for their student and even for whole society too they are more educated and respectable and more wise too ,and for the teachers their principal or head master or mistress, they are more wiser.
and i know one famous school principal in karimabad karachi, she took the teachers of her school and their children for the HAWKSBAY picnic today even by knowing that it was dangerous to go there.
If the school principal acts like that what will happen to the other nation.
hope God bless Pakistan.
Allah hafiz.
sorry it took too long for you to read this.
Thanks

Faisal I can understand your concern. Aapkoe agar Pakistan maen rehna hae toe zahir hae dar kar rehna hae magar Allah ka shokar hae kae maen oes society maen rehta hoen jahan Musalmaan kee hukumut naheen aur mujh koe yahan dar kar naheen rehna parta.

Today marks the one week for the events in Lahore. For most of the Pakistanis its past history… for us its not. Today I prayed my Juma Prayers while outside the mosque (ibadat gah!) some of our young boys 16-18 stood guard.

I could see no official protection… not at our mosque anyway… while there is news that they caught one terrorist last night from Rabwah (chenab Nager) with lots of ammunition.

Im afraid our Govt is still asleep. People are asleep …

and they will never wake up …

Faisal Qureshi sahib,

Asalumu Alaikum,

Yesterday I was watching a programme on Geo TV that All off our ministers/politician don’t know the prices of daily consuming goods. (Like Atta, cheeni, ghee). Here my question is that Can I trust on them that they are my (here I mean People of Pakistan) real representative in parliament and they know my problems and they’ll make policies/budget in my favor/interest?

Actually I (people) am living in fool’s paradise, I am thinking that we I’m a free citizen of Pakistan. The fact is that still I’m Ghulam, before this I was under control of Britian, now I’m JAMHOORI MURGHA in the hand of so called Democratic parties. They are playing fixed match, and I’m fighting with my fellow citizen, in their interest. And there is no voice coming from anywhere Except Your,

God bless you.

salaam, it was very depressing to know that noone raised their voices against the pollution near the masjid. the poor is helpless everywhere in the world, but the rich never gets affected. what i do not understand is that we all spend millions on the hundreds of talk shows like yours. why can't you get that area cleaned up? is it SO DIFFICULT? you know the world says that Oprah is an amazing woman, although she doesn't depict 10% of the intelligence our people posses. but with her limited understanding she atleast makes a lot of changes! make yourself a platform and address such issues one at a time! they maybe small inconsiderate changes, but they matter a LOT! i do not live in Pakistan unfortunately, but i know from my experience that it is extremely cheap to get any such activity done in Pakistan. there are good people in this world too. i am sure thousands will contribute. make an opening for us overseas too and we will contribute. afterall Islamic research foundation, Edhi etc all get funded and helped too. we may not be able to make big changes or reconstruct cities…but such changes can be made even on an individual level. bas karney waala chahiyey. secondly, i do agree when you say "kay kya hum itnay bebas hain kay humein ek shurta chahiyey jo hamarey ser per danda ley kar khara ho aur bataye kay qanoon follow karo"…but i also find this argument very hypothetical. is dunya mein qanoon ki zaroorat hi nahii thi agar hum mein itni aqal hoti. ALLAH ney Qur'an hi na naazil kiya hota. rule breakers are everywhere and that is why you need a ruler! the issue is not "why" we dont follow rules…it is "how" we should enforce them. agar aap road rules follow kartey hain aur aap kay ird gird 50 log nahiin kartey…aap aakhir mein frustrate ho jayengey…and your effort will be very well overlooked…BUT if YOU stand on the road and direct those 50 under the position of being a "shurta" you will make a HUGE difference. i live in muscat, oman and this country is very well disciplined and the police have a LOT of authority. but we also have one of the highest road accident death rate. the people here are rowdy beyond your imgagination…but because they know they are so STRICTLY watched…they dare not break any rules. waisay bhi i find such comparison extremely unfair and stupid. oman ki population karachi kay population sey thori hai, so obviously order and development is expected. well, i thought i will write to you, because i am not aware of anyone else who listens to the youth as much as you do. do acknowledge it, thankyou.

Media is powerless. The vote is in your hand. People like Mr. Dasti are still being elected and the political parties laugh at your face after the election. Enjoy.

hello faisal saheb, ive been watching your shows for quite some time now and i truly appreciate your efforts to make things better for our country.

im sure the solution for every problem is in the right, proper upbringing of our kids. teaching them about values, priorities, morality and the difference between rights and wrongs, esp, realizing and identifying wrong things would definitely work wonders for us and will contribute heavily to build this society and nation stronger. teaching them to admit their mistakes when they make any is another thing that is crucial to teach them. we (the majority atleast) really lack all this and dont even care and realize how badly it all effects when we dont teach manners (in every form) to kids and when we behave wrongly infront of them. all our actions gets saved in their brains and indirectly effect their personality, nature, character and approach. for example, breaking a red light at a signal infront of kids (its wrong even if we are all alone on the road), throwing garbage, cans etc on the road when we are with our family/small kids, using foul language at public places, i can go on and on but i think the point is clear enough to make us realize that whatever we do infront of children moulds their character in those directions and later they do the same, thinking that its all normal and okay, thats why its so hard for anyone to make them understand that when they are doing isnt right, for instance, when on road you just cannot make a bad driver agree that he has parked his care wrongly, he just wont admit and will start a fight instead, cuase he has never seen that as something that wrong.

this solution might take sometime to work, but i guess its the only option we got if at some point in our life we want a good society, otherwise we will remain like this forever. its about time we start valueing basic manners and inject them in our kids. in that way every single wrong thing would be wrong for them, thats what we actually need to have.

thank you for your time.

best.

Assalam-o-Aliekum,

coz iss hukumat ko madhe nazar rakhte we , main ksi punjabi, ya baloch ka haal to nahii bta sakta … but as a PAKISTANI, agar mere saath awam ka tola ho to main apni galiyan kabhi gandi na karun .. balke in k gharon pe jake .. phatrao karuuu !!!

Lekin aaj mai yeh sochne pe majboor hogai hoon k mai sahi thi ya ghalat, kun k mera is waqat koi status nhi hai. or jo log bemaniyan kar rahe the or jin ko education se koi lagao na tha wo bari bari jagahoon pe bethe hue hain.mere bache  mujhe critisize karte hain.lekin ek ajeeb sa satisfaction jo mai apne dil mai mehsoos karti hoon or whi satisfaction mujhe aage yeh kaam jaari rakhne ko khta hai  mai aap se sirf yeh pochna chati hoon k jab mashre mai sache logon ki deficiency ho jae to koon si medicine li jae.

dear faisal,

i like your show. i just want to share something,  what i was told by one of my teacher :

Ek saltanat ke badshah ko mehsoos hua keh meri qaum behis ho chuki hai uss ne apne masheer aur wazeeron se mashwara kiya toh unhon ne kaha inn per income tax laga de 25% he did it but nobody protested, he increased the tax upto 50%, still no protest. the king was really upset he finally made it 100% still, nobody protested. His wazeer advised him ke jahan panah iss awam ko tax ke sath jootiyan bhi mari jaen. he implemented this rule that tax ke sath jootiyan bhi khao…. ek din log badshah ke mahal ke bahar jama ho gay badshah boht kush hua keh meri quam jaag uthi uss ne foran darbar lagaya aur logon se poocha kiya shakayat hai.. toh unn ne kaha ke badshah salamat aap ne jootiyan marne ke liye jo log rakhe hai woh bohat kam hain aap meharbani farma kar unn ko barha den humein boht intzaar karna parta hai..,.

same is with us … mujhe aisa mehsoos hota hai keh main bhi itni hi behis ho chuki hoon. ek admi sarak pe rokta hai aur hum bakriyon ki tarah khare ho jate hai ku keh PM ya CM ne guzarna hota hai hum kitna intzaar karen, humari kya commitment hai …..who cares

Came across this on a blog by a youngster in Karachi… very telling…

When you attack black people, they call it …

Racism

When you attack Jewish people, they call it…

 Antisemitism

When you attack women, they call it…

 Sexism

When you attack homosexuality, they call it…

 Intolerance

When you attack your country, they call it…

Treason

When you attack a religious sect, they call it…

 Hate Speech

But when they attack the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they call it…

 FREEDOM OF SPEECH

?!?!WHY!?!

My name is zeeshan and i m the student of engineering. Currently living in Pakistan. My simple question is tomorrow i m reading newspaper and in that on a front page an article publish which state like that " President Asif Ali Zardari decleared American National in world's top web site . " Now the point is this is publish on one of the famous newspaper. Secondly if it is true then why judiciary and media is quite on this matter ? As Constitution says President of Pakistan should be Pakistan National ? I humbly requested u to discuss this matter in ur program

Fatima

As they say, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Faisal plz raise the issue of massive encrochment in Mehran Town and play the role of ur part…

Jawad Ahmad

I have been following you on Twitter for a while now and I think I understand what you are trying to say.

There is this idea which is constantly popping up in my mind for past few weeks now as a feasible solution to problems of Pakistan.Thing is when I look at the current political Parties of this country one thing is common in alost all of them that all the people at the forefront are rich with strong Feudal or Miltary background. My Idea is to provide an alternative, a political party from "Working Class" people with strong academic background and absolutely no link to the current elite of the country. In this way while remaining in this current system educated and sensible people will have someone to vote for and a process in which all the people who are sick of current available choices can participate and come out of this state of disassociation.

I know how the whole Election Process works in this country but I think it can be a good starting point towards the ultimate goal of "corruption free system".

What do you think is it possible and what are the reasons that nobody has tried that before?

Thanks.

Jawad

This Nation is not able to decide what is the right place for the right things. So how can you & me expect that they wakeup and listen our voice. Let this nation mourn on the situations till eternity because they don't want to change, they don't want to speak about rights because they are Educated person. They Just Remember Pakistan on 14th August Day, They like to enjoy freedom Holy Day, Even any one want to talk to they mention their Casts… their Party name  …their like to Share his/her party flag in the shadow Pakistani Flag. They pretend like a Pakistani but they are not.

I miss that leadership of Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was made a Path of Nation but these Educated persons are not available to talk about Pakistan even they don't have time to see your show in weekdays. Because they want only Money from this Country.

Dear Faisal Qureshi,  i am a reqular viewer of your programe on the tv one. I just want to express my observation after the tragic incident of Data Darbar, The whole of the city and the country is in shock but its very very shocking that

WE are destroying our property, business as a mark of protest

A day of mourning is being observed wiith huge rallies and jalsas.

All the victims are being declared SHAEED because they were at a place of worship.

Every WHO IS WHO  is condeming the incident, viisting and announcintg the COMPANSATION.

OK, FINE TILL NOW BUT Now compare and  no offence, please.

on 28th May 2010, although more than 80 people became the victim of straight firing but

1. No stfike call from the affected party,

2, No one from the fellow country men dared to call them shaheed

3. No damage to any property of the pulblic or private.

4. No noteable of the provincial govt visited, announced compansation

5. No declaration of mourning period in respect of the victims.

SO, I THINK THAT THIS MAY BE ONE OF THE MANY REASONS THAT WE ARE SUFFERING, BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT TO TREAT FEW SELECTED ONES EVEN AS HUMAN BEINGS.

REGARDS.

i fuly agree wid u mr.syed munir ahmed…..i am an AHMADI MUSLIM ALHAMDOLILAH…but here in pak no1 notice our reaction…kassh dekh k kuch sabaq le lete….

(I just re paste this to get the answer from Faisal Sahab because i have seen one thing in his show he is asking there own question again n again if he didn't get the answer so here i am asking again)

Faisal Bro,

If you have time please ask only one Question with this nation on behalf on me. What Do they Want to Do?

Amanat Husein

AOA,

Faisal, I live in North Nazimabad on 4th floor in an apartment with my Mother, Brother and Son, due to old age my mother can’t even sit by herself.

Today at 8:30 pm I saw an old man lying flat on the footpath and I had to wait for my brother to come back from the market before I go downstairs to see if he is alright  it took 30 minutes for my brother to return and during these 30 minutes I saw may cars passing by, pedestrians, cops on the bikes, though they stopped for a minute but than they left without even asking him if he needs any help and many people heading to mosque to offer Isha prayers and no one bothered to even ask this old man for any assistance.

Finally my brother came, I ran downstairs asked our building’s watchman for the company and approached this old man, brought him to my building offered him water and a cup of tea and what ever I could and asked him if there is anything I can do for him, when he started talking he was so polite and well behaved that I could not stop my tear, this gentleman who is a graduate lived in Abu Dhabi, helped all his relations and now was left alone to die on the road.

Tell me how can I not hate these wealthy corrupt inhuman rulers, while people are dying like insects.

What do you all  have to say??

Amanat Husein.

Assalaam u Aleikum

my parents take great interest in political affairs and some news channel or political talk show is usually always what we watch but bang e dara is the only political talk show i stay awake to watch with regularity and i must say i feel so so proud of you as a pakistani for you dare to speak the truth and you say it on the face of the people who are consistently lying who say k aapki sui ek jagah atak jati hai..if only they can take some out to watch those shows later and see how absurd they are sounding when they keep repeating the same stupid explanations of their acts.

your ideas inspire me. i thank you.

Allah bless you

may we together as a nation be able to and enable others to be courageous, truthful, honest and daring and most importantly, respectful,,for our nation and the fellow people.

Farah Zaka

your straightforwadrness and will inspires me. Allah bless you. i feel very proud of you as a pakistani.

Asalam-O-Alikum Qureshi bhai.

I am from Dubai, i feel shame & can't tell to the people here that i am Pakistani. By face i look like western or Middle Eastern but when i tell them i am Pakistan then they look at me in a very strange way & then start asking why Pakistan is terrorist & why they fight all the time. I am fed up & so tired. I can't tell to everybody, we are not terrorist…

i am watching your program right now & enjoying. Thanks for keeping us up to date & discussing Pakistani issues. From your conversation, you look real patriotic & i wish all our twat leaders can become honest with our beloved country.

Kindest Regards,

Allah be with you

Asalamoalekum Faisal Bhai,

I had a flight from Karachi to London, when I was in airport I heard the announcement that flight for London (they didn’t say flight to Islamabad is ready) is ready for boarding, when we were in air for almost one hour I was astonished to hear the announcement that shortly we would be landing at Benazir International Airport Islamabad. So, almost I travelled 1.5 hrs from Karachi to Islamabad then stayed in the plane for 2 hours, as passengers for Islamabad were getting off & then passengers for London were boarding so it was 8 hours travel from Islamabad to London Heathrow.

It’s not our business if PIA got very few passengers from Karachi to London & they had to change their plan, even they didn’t have the courtesy to inform us well on time or just before boarding or may be after boarding. There is no one who should be held accountable & PIA doesn’t care about their customers.

Faisal Bhai, your comments on PIA and you have said, that you got nothing to do with patriotism

If nothing to do with patriotism then why "Pak Sir Zameen Shad Bad"

Jazak Allah

fareeha

i have got a very important question. who is the federal minister for education in pakistan.?

Dear Faisal bhai,

I am sorry that when i called you i was totally flushed with emotions. Ali bhai I am doing the same thing you are doing but in a different manner the difference is that you are being seen by the whole world while i am restricted to a group's wall. I wish we have a revolutionary leader with your thinking so he could lead us. Everyone is waiting for Imam Khumaini but no body wants to become one. I don't know when would we stand up for what we believe. We are cowards and stay cowards. and a Hadith is really speaking for our current condition " Achi Qaum pe Achay Rahnumah Or Buri Qaum Pe Buray Rahnumah hoon gay" May ALLAH Give you life and help you change Pakistan for the betterment of our own children.

FAHAD

FAISAL BHAI , I have no words to admire your efforts, the patriotism U keep is in Fraction in this nation. I wonder it would be a REALLY REALLY BIG MIRACLE IF PAKISTAN HAVE ANY ACHIEVMENT TOWARDS SUCCESS FROM FAILURE WE HAVE TODAY. :'')

I SAW MY COUNTRY FLAG LYING MIDDLE ON SHAHRAE-FAISAL ONCE TOOK TEARS INTO MY EYES. DONT LET WE THE PEOPLE HOPEFUL FAISAL BHAI .. DAY DREAMING IS NOT ALLOWED :''')

The flag doesn’t matter. What it does to you does. If it means nothing to you, it’s just a piece of paper.

MY COUNTRY MUST HAVE TEARS IN ITS EYES AS WELL THAT WHAT SORT OF PEOPLE LIVING UPON IT…I WONT LEAVE MY COUNTRY FOR MY GR8 CAREER. ALLAH HELP ME TO SERVE MY COUNTRY WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OF EVILS LIVING HERE!  ALLLAHUMMA AMEEENN…..

Omran Sultan

Salam wa leekum…

I'am Omran from Shj ,

Today was the renewal date of my wife and childrens passport i left my home at 6:30 and reached at Dubai council of Pakistan at 7:30 after so much traffic and as my wife went inside the council to take the num and there was no organized system over there no separate line for ladies nor for families and even the sitting arrangement was not in a systematical way , there were 300 bachelors (appro.) and 10 to 15 families and they all were asked to sit in a single room in which the a/c was also not working properly u can imagine the situation a man with a wife and 2 childrens and families were fighting over there and the ppl working there were enjoying this scene no security was available over there.. Is this Pakistan ? Is this the system of Pakistan ? after seeing all this i think UAE's fish market is far better then the council of Pakistan it is more systematical and works in a manner… Apna passport collect karne ke liye  humhe 6 se 7 gante bahar line mein rukna parta hai jab tak humhari bari ayi woh bhi main road ke uppar n apko Dubai ki garmi ka andaza hoga… Waha or bhi council office hai jaise ke Indian. Egyptian n many more unn sab mein systematical way hai n ek tarika hai apne mulk walo se pesh anne ka lekin Pakistani council families, ladies n bachelors sab ko bahar garmi mein khara karke sab ke samne tamasha banate hai…

When it was time General Pervaiz Musharaf sahab the system was very better and very easy and ladies were having a separate room n gents were having a separate room to wait… We dont believe in democrary aaj democracy humhe yeh dekha rahi hai isse ache toh army wale the jo apne mulk ki hefazat bhi karte hai or humhe seyasatdan choro or dagao se bachate hai i really love my country isliye mujhe dhok hota hai apne mulk itne ghalt hathon mein dek kar humhara mulk aaj duniya ka sab se betareen mulk hota magar iske ghalt hathon mein janne ki waja se pora system kharab ho gaya hai or afsos se mujhe yeh kehna par raha hai aaj mera mulk sab se batareen halat mein hai… Mein apka program bare shoq se dekta ho or ap bilcol sahi farmate hai lekin aaj jo Pakistan hai humhare baro ne yeh Pakistan nahi mangha tha na hi iss Pakistan ka tasawar kiya tha… Quaid-e-Azam ne ek baar farmaya tha ke agar Pakistan yeh hai toh mein Pakistan nahi chata…

Omran Sultan

or haan ALLAH apki hefazat kare or apko lambi omar de (AMEEN )…

Kind Regards.

I totally agee with you Mr omar sultan. The same thing happened to me at Gerry's International lahore. I went with my husband and I was not allowed to go in . I didnt know that ……… I had no where to go as I am not from lahore. we didnt even take our car. I was all confused and requested them to let me in coz I didnt know any one here and every one is staring at me…. I cannot stand on road. Any ways I was not allowed. Then I requested them to just let me sit on the chair which was near the door as I couldnt stand being pregnant. They didnt care and told me to stand in the sun on the road. In that confusion I didnt even realized that I am not having any change with me and my debit card was not working in Pakistan. They told me it might be a matter of 30 mins or one hour. Any ways……. I waited there hour after an hour. After 4 hours in a sun, over the road in melting heat and being pregnant I was about to faint. I asked for a glass of water and it was as if I was asking for some gold or diamonds or I have committed a serious crime………every staff member was looking at me and did nothing……….. then I went to 2 police men near by on duty and asked them to give me some water as they were holding bottles of water. They told me to go to near by shop pay 10 rupees and buy water for ur self!!!!!! I was astonished………… I said I dont have money and the comment which they passed is beyond writing…………. I stared crying and told the staff to Gerry's International just to let my husband know about my situation…… I am pregnant and this baby is very precious for us… just let him know coz we can come for application for later appointment but cannot lose our baby now……..and looking at my condition few ladies also started insisting on them and asked for water and fluids for me………..and FINALLY I was blessed with a glass of water …………..after six hours……..constant shouting………. finally they let my husband to see me for a second …….. he came out…….. I composed my self and just asked………I need money to take taxi……..as in innitial confusion I forgot to keep change with me ….. he gave me money …… I took taxi,,,, …. it was 07:00 pm……….so finally the journey from the rest house to Gerry's International ended at 07:00pm, after 11 hours…!!!!!when my husband came home I cried and cried and told him to promise me he will never bring me here again………………………..

Dear Faisal Bhai, good to see about PIA on ur show, thats what i explained earlier. PIA is not even bothered about their international passengers. they will pick and drop people within the country without informing their international passengers and then will deal with their international passengers which is pity.                                                                          Hope is good thing even better, and am hoping that PIA will do something better to save their airline and am hoping better from your side as well that you will reply this time.

Dear Mr Faisal Qureshi…………. I wanted to share some thing and thought it would be an eye opener ……… but as expected the same response………….. I went to media before and they refuse to take my complaint or comment…….. after watching ur show I felt that now I have found the right place………….. but now I feel there is no right place …….. u r discussing the things which u r allowed to discuss on show………….there are green and  red zones for u ………. Any ways thank you so much coz ur show have atleast a power to arose ' SOYA HWA ZAMEER' but I feel ya soya hi theek hai….. CHALO IS KO EK BAR PHIR SULATAIN HAIN………

today i was on the cloud nine because of the awesome weather i opened the door for my maids n they were smiling cuz of the rain n i was like chalo shuker hai k aj mausam ko sab lil bit enjoy ker rahay hain  otherwise sab khanay ko pertay hain garmi mei.. alas! it was pretty  fugacious good feeling till i saw nadia khan lamenting about the sister assaulted by 3 doctors of jinnah hospital karachi .. i really condemn this he should be burned alive.

this is a real terrorism suicidal bombers are hard to be traced per ye '' 3 habees'' should be cutted into pieces without any hearing!

everyday is a worst day 24/7 bad news

my point of view is

One who has the power and one who hasn't, can exploit anything or everything around them without noticing how much they are effecting their surroundings so to bring things ''little bit'' under control vice versa ''LAW IMPLEMENTION'' has become ''necassary'' !!

so aap politicians jo ratti ratayi lines yaad ker k apk show pe atay hain like '' hum koshish ker rahay hain '' bla bla.. invite lawyers n judges n examine them…

u going good! May Allah protect you from the eye of evil! keep up!

regards!!

I am disturbed by something I saw in a column of Daily Jinnah in its July 06 publication, which says that Ahmadis & Israel are behind recent terrorist attacks in Data Durbar Lahore. I believe that our journalists should exercise responsibility when dealing with sensitive issues like terrorism. The gentleman says that Ahmadis are acting on behalf of Israelis to destabilize Pakistan. More painful thing is that wise journalist has not given any proof of this allegation and went on to say that important bureaucratic positions are held by Ahmadis, and they provide suicide bombers places to hide before attacks. And as such high ranking bureaucrats remain unchecked by state apparatus so nobody got to revelations he has got to.

If these findings are true then he should have provided evidence to State also so that these people can be arrested. But if these are not then it sounds me like some Nazi holocaust speech in WWII against Jews. We should not displace minorities away from national circle as it would not only disturb image of our country but also in a country where people kill innocents outside courts without any convictions this attitude by literate journalist can ignite hatred holocaust against poor minorities.

Dear Faisal,

Recent violence in Karachi and I come to a conclusion that It’s a PPP who's is to blame for I can see their finger prints allover, because whenever you see media focus on PPP in any of their past endeavors in corruption, fake degree or any other matters they distract media attention from them to have some breathing space to think for next strategy to tackle media pressure from themselves.

As an intelligent and educated host you are I hope you know what I am trying to explain to our public, they are so far away from these thought they don’t think beyond or step ahead.

But why they are going to think in this way its again the same old tactics by ruling party to keep people busy in job, electricity, food ,health and security issues, if they all have these, so people will stand for their rights they’ll come on the road  and its very dangerous situation for ruling party, so my fellow countryman it’s a  PPP who is playing game all along , you can say that it’s a dictator who they cries for a lot ,but when they become dictator they cries a lot.

I am sick and tired of their cries & lies and I see a revolution soon and they don’t realizing this at all.

My fellow countryman please wake-up and do something about this, next time elect wisely, please don’t waste your vote next time you already given 2 chance to both, but what are they results, are you still going to do the same please don’t do this mistake again.

In the rainy season, sometimes to get to the first lesson we had to run really quick, because we had to cross the river to school and we'd have to go up and down the bank to find a place to cross because there is no bridge.
